Summary of the role:

The HR Officer will be responsible for providing support to the Senior HR Business Partner and the wider People and Culture team in the delivery of HR services. The role will focus on a range of HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, aspects of payroll, L&D, travel logistics and other generalist HR duties. A key part of the role will be to provide support in identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet all Muslim Aid’s staffing needs.  

About the Role:

1. Ensure a smooth, efficient and welcoming onboarding and probation process for new employees.  
2. Facilitate the recruitment process by assisting hiring managers in meeting departmental needs. Responsibilities include crafting job descriptions, posting ads, screening candidates, and conducting interviews.
3. Provide advice and guidance to employees on HR policies and procedures.
4. Prepare payroll amendment sheets for UK and International staff.
5. Assist with performance management processes and employee relations issues.
6. Support HR analytics requirements to track performance metrics.

To be successful in this role you will need:

1. Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in a generalist HR role, in particular recruitment and employee relations.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.

Context of the role.

The successful candidate will be guided by the Communications & Fundraising Officer to communicate the experiences of refugees and asylum seekers and demonstrate the impact of Upbeat Communities to our supporters and followers, as well as to new audiences. They will have a positive attitude and love communicating what we do as a charity.

The role can mostly be done remotely; however, it will be required for the candidate to travel to our base in Derby a minimum of 1 day a week to stay connected to the team, and for team meetings and training as and when they occur.

Upbeat Communities was founded in response to the needs of refugees arriving in the UK and the stories they shared of their lives and their journeys. Through building relationships with those from refugee communities we were able to identify their needs and the best ways to respond.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Content creation

•  Creating written and visual content for social media and our website.
• Finding useful resources, articles, and news to be shared on our website, blog and social media.

Social media and website

•  Day-to-day management of Upbeat’s social media accounts including creating and scheduling content, replying to messages, and interacting with followers.
•  Updating the website with relevant images, statistics, and news.

Supporter stewardship

• Following Upbeat’s donations process, ensure donors are thanked in an appropriate and timely manner, and that all communications are logged on to our database (Donorfy).
• Researching local fundraising or awareness-raising opportunities and events.

Other

• Working with Upbeat’s Communications & Fundraising Officer on larger-scale fundraising campaigns throughout the year, as well as the communication of these campaigns.
• Making an active contribution to the overall work of Upbeat Communities through team meetings, staff training, awareness and fundraising events, and any other appropriate activities.

StreetLink London is a bespoke assessment and response telephone service for people who are rough sleeping in London, supported by volunteers. Building on St Mungo’s extensive experience of supporting people sleeping rough through a range of face-to-face services, this innovative service aims to reduce the incidences of subsequent rough sleeping amongst people who have not slept rough before and increase the speed with which those who have a history of rough sleeping can access support and accommodation.

As an Assessment and Response Worker you will:

• Answer phone calls from people experiencing homelessness in London and deliver a high quality of customer service

• Triage online referrals from the website and the app, to connect people who are rough sleeping with local outreach teams as quickly as possible.

• Carry out comprehensive telephone assessments, identifying immediate options for accommodation and support while confidently responding to emergency situations and safeguarding concerns.

• Advocate on behalf of people with relevant statutory and non-statutory services to ensure clients can access the support and accommodation they are entitled to as quickly as possible.

• Train, motivate and support volunteers so they can provide a high quality, responsive service to everyone contacting StreetLink London.

The Communications Officer is a key supporting role within the Communications team. The post holder will research, write, and publish content across various channels, liaising with teams across the organisation to help identify content. About the team

Shelter Sheffield provide housing advice and support to people across the city with a focus on emergency homelessness, intensive support for children and families, people experiencing domestic abuse and people with multiple and complex needs. We take a holistic approach to help people deal with interrelated issues that can impact their ability to keep a home and help over 5000 people a year while also working to change the underlying systems that cause the housing emergency.

About the role

You will be the first point of contact for in-person and telephone callers to the service - taking client details, providing information and working with advisers to direct enquiries to the right people.

You’ll provide administrative support and have responsibility for designing and developing office systems and processes, data input, extraction and analysis and finance administration.  Helping front line staff with case administration, assisting the Hub managers with ad-hoc projects and seeing that our office equipment is properly maintained – all are aspects of this interesting, varied and vital role.

Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people who have had stoma surgery (ostomates) and those who care about them. As the Fundraising Executive you will work to grow income through developing our community engagement, attracting, building and managing relationships with a range of supporters (individual donors and fundraisers, community groups, local businesses, volunteers etc). Central England Law Centre (CELC) provides a vital service to clients across Coventry and Birmingham, providing support for all aspects of housing law through a team of dedicated solicitors, caseworkers, paralegals and support workers.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced caseworker or solicitor to join the team, supporting our clients across Birmingham in the delivery of casework through the Law Centre’s Legal Aid contract.

The successful candidate will be subject to a basic DBS check.

Responsibilities

With responsibility for a caseload of clients across Birmingham, the successful candidate will:

• Advise clients on all aspects of housing law through face-to-face and telephone appointments
• Undertake casework and represent clients at court as appropriate
• Liaise with the Legal Aid Agency in respect of funding applications and claims
• Complete public funding forms via CCMS and paper applications where appropriate
• Promptly cost and bill closed cases in order to meet individual and team targets

Person Specification

• A solicitor or caseworker with proven experience of the delivery of casework through a legal aid contract
• A demonstrable commitment to social justice
• The ability to work sympathetically and effectively with a wide variety of clients
• Experience of advocating for clients in court and with other agencies
• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of legal aid eligibility requirements and legal aid applications

About the role

As Project Officer you will play a central role in the delivery of INTRAC’s consultancy assignments and grant funded projects. This will involve coordinating short and long term projects, involving staff and consultants through our global network and clients around the world, ensuring effective and quality delivery. We carry out a wide variety of assignments, ranging from project evaluations to bespoke in-house training and learning partner roles for complex, multi-country civil society strengthening programmes.

The Story Museum in Oxford is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join its fundraising team.

The successful candidate will be a natural relationship builder who enjoys making the ask and is passionate about the Museum's aims and ambitions.
