We’re looking an experienced individual to join our Community Fundraising team as Community Fundraising Volunteer Team Leader's covering our London & South Central hub. You will join us working 35 hours per week on a permanent basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of up to £30,058 per annum plus excellent benefits.

The Community Fundraising Volunteer Team Leader is an exciting role for someone with a passion for volunteers who wants to make a positive impact on volunteer experiences. Sitting in the Community Fundraising and Events department within the Marketing and Income Generation Directorate the Community Fundraising Hubs aim to grow local income from a diverse range of products and activities through a volunteer first approach. The community fundraising volunteer team leader is responsible for managing and growing our network of fundraising volunteers, ensuring each volunteer has a positive experience, supporting the growth of community fundraised income and demonstrating the joy and impact of community fundraising and volunteering all for the benefit of cats and kittens in the UK.

About the role  

As the charity works to double the number of women it helps, we are recruiting for a Fundraising Events Lead to join our Newcastle team. Reporting to the Centre Manager, they will engage new and existing supporters and achieve income targets, raising vital funds across events and community fundraising to support of our mission.

In practice, this involves identifying new locations to deliver our annual events calendar including our sustainable fashion sales, and delivering our annual community fundraising campaign to target income, Cycle for Smart Works.

They will also work with our Communications Assistant to deliver engaging digital content about our events and community fundraising initiatives across various social media platforms.

The successful candidate will have good relationship building skills to ensure lasting and mutually beneficial event partnerships, and excellent written communication skills.

The role will be based at our Smart Works centre in Newcastle with occasional travel to set-up and host corporate and community events. Occasional weekend and evening work is also required to lead and support on our events calendar.

Duties and responsibilities

• Leading on Smart Works Newcastle’s signature fundraising events, including high-end supporter events, fashion sales, and pop-up shops, managing the project from planning to execution and ensuring income targets of circa £55K are met.
• Effectively steward and manage multiple event partners to increase annual gift-in-kind support, clothing donations and engagement.
• Manage all external stakeholders involved in an event, sharing event briefs with the staff and trustee team.
• Seek networking opportunities to grow our supporter base, through community fundraising and corporate partnerships, owning KPI income targets for community and events.
• Working with the London HQ Community Fundraising Manager, to deliver our annual community fundraising campaigns such as Cycle for Smart Works and local events such as the Great North Run to income target c. £20k.
• Deliver an event from concept to delivery, ensuring key metrics are shared with the Communications Assistant to update our stakeholder groups accordingly.
• Supporting the team with other income generation streams such as grant applications, corporate relationships and working with the London HQ functions for each stream.

Personal Specification 

Essential criteria

• Demonstrable experience in event management and delivery, raising income in excess of £55k per annum. Event management in a fundraising capacity is highly desirable.
• Strong relationship building skills and confidence managing various stakeholders.
• Target driven with excellent organisation and time management capabilities, demonstrating an ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
• Effective project-management skills, with proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience of writing applications for charitable trust grants is highly desirable.
• A detailed understanding of the fundraising landscape across Newcastle is highly desirable.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) and digital content creation software such as Canva and Adobe InDesign, for professional settings.
• Experience in a fundraising or sales-based role.
• Experience working with VIPs or influencers.

The role 

We have experienced an exponential growth in income from public fundraising leading to an increased awareness of fuel poverty. To build on this success and maintain increased unrestricted income from a wider fundraising mix, we are recruiting a new Fundraising Assistant to offer vital support for all fundraising activities. This new role will join a small, proactive team who raise funds from a variety of sources including trust and foundations, corporate partnerships, major donors, events and community fundraisers and individual giving.

As Fundraising Assistant, you will provide admin and fundraising support across the Fundraising and Partnerships Team and excellent customer service to supporters, partners, fundraisers, and internal stakeholders in pursuit of the overall strategy of the Fundraising and Partnerships Team.

You will have demonstrable experience of working in fundraising, business development, customer service or a similar background.

You will also assist with the implementation of the NEA donor journey and stewardship activities, organisation of fundraising events as required – as well as supporting with donor communication and retention.

With such an array of opportunities you will need to have a high attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and be exceptionally organised.

You should be based in Newcastle upon Tyne or within a commutable distance, with some infrequent travel on an ad-hoc basis.

Duties and key responsibilities

Community fundraising

• Manage and develop regional fundraising by devising a regional community fundraising strategy for income generation.
• Design and develop Sarcoma UK's calendar of annual community fundraising campaigns and events communication, including Cuppa and Cake.
• Introduce fundraising opportunities to our existing and potential supporters through a multi-channelled marketing strategy to grow levels of engagement and participation.

Responsibilities include:

Leadership, Strategy and Governance

• To be an active member of the Made in Hackney Senior Leadership Team, working together to galvanise the organisation behind our strategic plan.
• To contribute to strategic discussions on the future direction of the organisation.

Donor stewardship & reporting

Job Title: Alumni and fundraising development officer

Location: Queen Mary's Grammar School, Walsall

Purpose of Job:

The postholder plays a key role in managing the alumni network, with a specific emphasis on events and volunteer management, to actively engage alumni and stakeholders with Queen Mary’s Grammar School. The goal is to continuously enhance the value and contributions from stakeholders in alignment with Queen Mary’s Grammar School’s strategic priorities.

Ultimately, this role is designed to support the school’s strategic plan by delivering philanthropic income and other forms of financial and non-financial support from alumni and other stakeholders. This is achieved by developing and strengthening relationships with important constituents and identifying shared areas of interest and activities to enable lifelong relationships to form.

Main responsibilities:

1. To work with the Headmaster in developing links with the alumni network through the Queen Mary’s Club (QMC) for the purpose of school promotion, school career programme development and fundraising.

2. To assist with other whole school fundraising projects

3. To oversee the financial and administrative function of school donations and the Queen Mary’s Association (QMA) as a parental fundraising body within the school.

It is expected that the role will be self-funding, as a result of the income brought into the school. This may include funds raised through alumni, grant applications and bequests from former pupils, as well as a contribution towards other fundraising projects.

JOB DESCRIPTION The duties include:

• Actively enhance engagement opportunities with former students and other stakeholders. Contribute to development of methods of engaging with alumni and strengthening their relationship with Queen Mary’s Grammar School and each other;

• Liaison with Old Marians, including a quarterly digital ‘From All Quarters’ update newsletter, creation of regular email campaigns, preparation of the annual Chairman’s letter and other social media/website updates;

About the role

The Technical Expert works alongside Sightsavers’ DID-IE TO45 team to coordinate and support implementing partner organisations to successfully implement approved activities. The post-holder will liaise with partners to support effective planning and strengthen collaboration with district level educational officials, the department of social services and relevant authorities.

Advocating for disability inclusion and inclusive education with relevant authorities and on behalf of Sightsavers. The role will oversee financial and asset management of implementing partners, whilst reporting to the Country Director. The Technical Expert will work closely with the Deputy Director of Education and the Senior Global Technical lead of Education.

Responsibilities

Technical support to programme:

• Provides strategic and technical guidelines for the program, including comprehensive support around different technical training for a diverse group e.g. Master trainers, teachers, SMCs    

• Provides technical support in the selection of assistive devices, whilst considering appropriate measurements and distribution among children with disabilities   

• Provide technical support to the DID-IE consortium members and partners regarding inclusive education and the aspects related to education.   

• Provide technical support to conduct SLIP training ensuring highest quality at field level with teachers    

• Supporting consortium partners to successfully ensure quality service of the project   

• Maintaining strong working relationships with government level offices such as MOPME/DPE/NAPE/NCTB/DSS/URC  

• Develop strong collaborative, supportive, and mutually respectful relationships with diverse team members, consortium members and key stakeholders.    

• Ensure program activities are implemented on schedule, within budget, and coordinated to maximise efficiency and effectiveness

Project financial planning and execution (20%)

• Coordinate with the relevant internal and external finance teams on budget preparation, forecasting, advances, requisitions, adjustments, and financial documentation.   

• Monitoring partner activities implementation, budget spend, and analyse expenditure variances, equity and inclusion throughout program implementation

Project advocacy and communication (20%)

• Liaison and coordination with DC office, UNO office, District level Education Officials, Department of Social Services (DSS), Local Government Authorities (LGA).    

• As per the guidance of Sightsavers’ Advocacy and Communication Coordinator, support partner/s in the district to deliver advocacy activities and campaigns for the project.

Project monitoring and evaluation (10%)

• Ensure regular project performance monitoring of partners as per the guidance of Sightsavers’ country and global colleagues.   

• Contribute to monthly, quarterly report writing along with management of participant database to ensure the quality and consistency of the activities offered from the project.

ROLE DETAILS 

Standing Voice is looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager based in or near London to join our UK team. This is an exciting and challenging role in a creative and focused working environment, within an organisation with multiple programmes and funding streams across 3 countries. This position suits an ambitious and experienced fundraiser, equipped with excellent written and oral communication skills and a depth of donor management experience. 

The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director and be tasked with advancing & implementing Standing Voice’s Fundraising Strategy including writing grants proposals; diversifying & scaling-up the organisation’s income streams; and managing donor relations and reporting. Schoolreaders was launched ten years ago in Bedfordshire with the aim of recruiting volunteers to provide one-to-one reading support for children in primary schools across the country. Over 22,000 children in over 1000 schools are receiving weekly reading sessions from a Schoolreaders volunteer.
