About the team:

The Customer Support Centre is multi-channelled, with a mixture of inbound, outbound and email traffic which receives calls and emails for our network of 21 rehoming centres in the UK. The Customer Support Centre also receives calls for several dedicated hotlines in the organisation along with making outbound post adoption support calls. The role will involve delivering exceptional customer service on every interaction for all sorts of queries coming into the organisation.

What you need to know:

Normal hours in this role are 37.5 per week, our national Customer Support Centre is open from 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am-5pm on weekends and bank holidays. Due to the nature of our operation, you will be required to work every other weekend (2 weekends per month) with some bank holiday work required.

The role is based in the Manchester Rehoming Centre with hybrid working. The successful candidate will be required to work two days a week at our Manchester office (M34 3SG) and three days remotely. Some UK travel may be required as and when needed.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to increase awareness of hepatitis C, reduce stigma, and promote access to testing and treatment for people living with hepatitis C.  

Do you have experience of working in drug services and with volunteers? Have you been affected by hepatitis C or have you supported anyone who has hepatitis C?

We are looking for passionate and skilled peer leads who have excellent communication and organisational skills. We require a good standard of education and welcome creativity and innovation in all our work.  

Working as part of a growing team providing services to people living with hepatitis C, this post will expand delivery of the Hepatitis C peer project, recruiting and supporting volunteer peers across Birmingham and immediate surrounding areas to raise awareness, promote harm reduction approaches, and proactively increase HCV (Hepatitis C Virus) testing, treatment, and care for marginalised communities. 

This post will require extensive travel across the region, and it is desirable, but not essential for the post holder to hold a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle for work related travel.   

As a key member of the Academy’s Science Base and Careers Policy team, the Policy Manager will work closely with the Head of Science Base and Careers Policy and senior stakeholders to contribute to the Academy’s strategic priority to Strengthen Research.

The Academy’s “Future-proofing UK Health Research: a people-centred, coordinated approach” report concluded that strong coordination is essential for UK health research. In this role, you’ll work directly with leading figures from across public, private and charitable sectors to enhance coordination, including through providing the secretariat to the UK Clinical Research Collaboration. You will also support wider implementation of the Academy’s report on “Future-proofing UK Health Research” and will line manage a Policy Officer.

We are looking for somebody who is committed to improving health for all supported by the best research and evidence, has strong stakeholder management skills, the ability to summarise complex information, and thrives on working with others to produce high quality outputs. You’ll normally have a degree or equivalent and work experience in a relevant area. Knowledge of the UK health research landscape is essential.

World Cancer Research Fund International (WCRFI) leads and unifies a network of cancer prevention charities based in Europe and the Americas. Our shared vision is a world where no one develops a preventable cancer.

WCRFI is responsible for the Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global) which is our global cancer prevention and survival programme focussing on the links between diet, nutrition, physical activity and cancer. Forming the cornerstone of all our work, the project is the only authoritative scientific resource of its kind in the world.

We are seeking a Head of Research Interpretation who will be responsible for managing the delivery of CUP Global. You will chair the CUP Global Secretariat and also provide support to the Assistant Director of Research and Policy and the Director of Research, Policy and Innovation in the oversight and strategic direction of the programme of work. You will also contribute to other projects such as ensuring that the WCRF network has the latest global cancer statistics, including new estimates of the preventability of cancer. 

You will be educated to PhD level, with ideally at least 2 years postdoctoral experience in a research environment, in a relevant area (e.g. nutrition, cancer, epidemiology, public health). You will have a good understanding of public health and epidemiology, nutrition and/or cancer and have experience of conducting and/or interpreting systematic reviews. You will have strong people management skills, with direct line management experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Website: Developing and updating SAT-7’s websites as inspiring platforms to raise profile, income and engagement.

Emails: Work with colleagues in the Communications Team and across the organisation to build, test and send responsive email templates for all SAT-7 UK’s email requirements (meeting SAT-7’s brand guidelines and conforming to industry standards). Use email marketing tool DotDigital to develop automated communications that strengthen supporter engagement and convert recipients into committed donors.

About this role

This role is an opportunity to participate in the global movement to protect the natural world; meeting and supporting incredible communities and organisations driving change to secure a sustainable future. You will be supporting our partners and carrying out grant administration in the Amphibian and Congo Basin Programmes, for which proficiency in both French and English is essential.

The role will be a fundamental part of Synchronicity Earth’s Programmes team (currently a team of seven people), working to help develop and grow the support we provide to our partners (grantees) across our programmes. Please note that first-stage interviews for this role will be conducted in both French and English.

Specific responsibilities will include the following:

• Manage some grantee partner relationships, including building trust and openness, identifying capacity needs, administrating grants, monitoring progress and fulfilling reporting requirements.
• Provide administrative support across the Programmes Team with grant management e.g. preparing of grant paperwork, reviewing partner reports and checklists (proposals), monitoring pipelines.
• Undertake research in focal areas for the Programmes Team, such as identifying intervention points and opportunities to make a difference in conservation.
• Contribute to communication products, including donor reports and applications, to support Synchronicity Earth’s fundraising and philanthropic goals.
• Produce and contribute to board papers and discussions.
• Update and undertake due diligence.
• Manage and maintain partner database, including data entry, preparing reports and basic analysis.
• Contribute to the development of Synchronicity Earth’s processes and systems around partner management and due diligence.

Synchronicity Earth is a UK-based, global environmental charity which funds work that aims to make our planet a better place to live for all its inhabitants.

We are a medium-sized charity which supports partners working to protect less well-known species and ecosystems around the world that receive less attention but face the greatest threats. We do this through our Conservation Programmes, which identify, fund, and support organisations with a focus on: Amphibians, Asian Species, Congo Basin, Biocultural Diversity, Freshwater, and Ocean. We also support work across two other areas: the More than Carbon initiative, a portfolio of climate and biodiversity projects targeted at corporate donors; and the Synchronicity Portfolio, which aims to foster systemic change to promote a greater focus on biodiversity conservation within different sectors. Our partners are mostly organisations embedded within their local communities, and we often support work which also considers social impacts such as women’s health and empowerment, engagement with Indigenous Peoples and local communities, and sustainable livelihoods (e.g., small-scale fisheries) in addition to wildlife conservation.

Skills and experience required

Essential

• Proficient written and spoken English equivalent to C1 or C2 level.
• Proficient written and spoken French equivalent to C1 or C2 level.
• Bachelor’s degree or three or more years’ work experience in a relevant area. This could be lived experience, volunteering, or work experience related to sectors such as biodiversity conservation, social justice, environmental protection, community organizing, or engagement with political and social movements.
• Demonstrable interest in ecology, endangered species and biodiversity conservation, social justice, or community organising.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality written materials.
• Computer literacy.

Desirable

• Experience in Africa (especially lived experience in West or Central Africa).
• Some understanding of community- and rights-based approaches.
• Willingness to undertake occasional travel both within the UK and overseas.
• Desire to work across a range of conservation issues and to undertake a diverse role.

Reporting, location, and work hours

This position is a permanent full-time position that is based in the Synchronicity Earth offices in Central London, with the option for hybrid office/home working if the successful applicant wishes with 2 days a week in the office (laptop would be provided for home working). The successful candidate must be already eligible to work in the UK.

Annual leave

25 days per year for a full-time position (in addition to public holidays), adjusted for part-time. We also run an employer-supported volunteering programme, where employees may take additional time-off (2 days per annum) to volunteer for community organisations and other charities (in accordance with our policy).

Review process: The application process will have three stages. Following anonymized review of applications, first-stage candidates (including qualifying GIS candidates) will either be invited to a short zoom call (about 20 minutes) or asked to complete a short assessment. Role Requirements

 As part of the site services team the role holder will be expected to liaise with managers and staff across the Trust. The role holder is expected to work closely with the other members of the facilities team and assist in covering in the laundry, in the deep clean team or other works as and when required.

You will be a natural and enthusiastic housekeeper working not only as part of a team but also individually. You will be health and safety aware, take ownership of your own work, and be understanding of the children’s needs here at The Children’s Trust. Good organisational skills, flexibility and being friendly and caring in nature are a must for this role. We are looking for an experienced Volunteer Manager to support and inspire those who volunteer for the charity. You will lead them in line with the vision, mission and values of the charity and work to fulfil the goals of our strategic plan. You will strengthen our current volunteering strands with effective governance and great communication and will develop new volunteering opportunities within the charity.

You will manage our volunteer-led Branches and Support groups who offer peer support, fundraising opportunities and activities locally. You will also manage HD Voice, our panel of volunteers, who contribute to the internal development of the charity and ensure that the voice of the Huntington’s community is at the heart of research into the condition.

Snow Camp is a ground-breaking national youth charity, and we are looking to recruit a fantastic new North West Wellbeing Manager and Programme Support to join our North West team on a 4 day a week contract (30 hrs).

Our accredited programmes are unique and attractive to young people, taking them from beginner to qualified snowsports instructors in just one year with volunteering and apprenticeship progression routes available at the end. Alongside learning to ski or snowboard, young people also have access to wellbeing support with the emphasis on improving young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

You will report to the North West Programme Manager & Head of Snowsports and will be responsible for the delivery of our wellbeing workshops and providing 1to1 wellbeing support sessions to young people. You will also work as part of the North West team to assist with the planning and delivery of snowsports and life-skills focused youth activities run by the Programme Manager and assist with the apprenticeship programme throughout each year.

Experience of working successfully with under-served young people in a range of settings, with a focus on supporting young people’s wellbeing will be essential to the post. Passion for snowsports and supporting young people generally will be a huge advantage!

Youth work, wellbeing support experience, project management, logistical skills, managing relationships, communication and presentation skills will make up the role. Along with experience of delivering group workshops to help young people work towards meaningful goals to improve their emotional wellbeing.

Job Description

• You will spend roughly 2.5 days will be in the Wellbeing Manager role and 1.5 days will be in the Programme Support role each week.
• In consultation with the Programme Manager, to manage the delivery of the Wellbeing Workshops and 1to1 mentoring support needed for young people and apprentices.
• Work with the programme manager to gain the young people’s trust and confidence.
• To assist with delivery and development of The North West’s full snowsports focused journey of youth programmes which take place at Chill Factore.
• Build a good relationship with the North West Programme Manager to help provide support and guidance to young people.
• Support with the management of (currently) 3 x North West apprentices on their 1-year Snow Camp Apprenticeship programme. particularly helping to manage their wellbeing and signpost to other services where needed.
• Ensuring the apprentices have clear personal development plans and objectives.
• Provide effective and inspiring leadership to apprentices and young people.
• Providing weekly 1to1 support sessions for each apprentice.
• Having an understanding and an involvement in the development of their weekly working rotas.
• Supporting with NVQ work & assisting with any challenges that may be faced.
• Ensuring apprentices are involved and supported working on all Snow Camp programmes as the North West staff team.
• Complete Personal Development Plans and Wellbeing Assessments as required with apprentices.
• Attend regular meetings with the other regional Wellbeing Managers to provide a consistent approach and building resources focused on improving young people’s wellbeing.
• Outside of programme days, provide one-to-one mentoring sessions to young people, in-person or remotely, focusing on their well-being and offering support so they can cope with the Snow Camp programme and improve their general wellbeing.
• Be a key team member on the overseas residential for the Excel programme during the Easter holidays. *Valid passport for travel in Europe & Andorra required.
• Use our UPSHOT online database system to keep records and ensure all monitoring and evaluation is carried out.
• Attend external training as required (e.g. Safeguarding and Mental Health Awareness tutor training courses).
• Ensure that all activities and provision you deliver is done safely and in line with organisational policies.
• Support the Programme Manager to ensure all programmes run smoothly and effectively by supporting the delivery of each programme – managing venue instructors, guest speakers, apprentices, youth staff, sessional staff and volunteers as required.
• Support the Programme Manager with recruiting young people for each programme through visits to youth projects, promotion through email to all relevant youth programmes and services and presenting at key stakeholder meetings on youth service provision. Finding new young people in the North West area to support by Snow-Camp will be key.
• Support the Programme Manager with programme administration including finances, SLAs, attendance records, risk assessments, bookings and young people’s records on Upshot.
• Support with management and delivery of trips and overseas residential’s (Snow-Camp Excel, Apprenticeship & Youth Forum Residential’s) as part of Snow-Camp programmes. Including support with all the necessary risk assessments.
• Additional tasks may vary depending on different opportunities throughout the year.

Management and support

The North West Wellbeing Manager & Programme Support will report to the North West Programme Manager & Head of Snowsports Morv Bett who will provide support and guidance.

The Trustee board will determine the overall direction of Snow Camp and will set the overall priorities in consultation with the Director and Senior Team.
