The strategy includes several bold outcomes such as doubling the number of young people choosing to attend worship regularly and having 3% of total population in the diocese regularly attending our churches.

Our diocesan strategy prioritises resourcing excellent youth ministry in seven ministry areas, to grow younger and more diverse. The good news is that we have just received funding for a 3-year Youth Hubs Pilot project, to define and evaluate an innovative approach to mission and evangelism with young people in a rural context, researching models for growing young disciples with the support of key research partners. Our goal is to bring about a step-change in youth ministry for the Diocese of Hereford and create a replicable model for reaching young people with the gospel in a rural context.

Student Groups Coordinator

£24,093 gross per annum

35.5 hours per week

The role

This role is part of the Student Activities department working collectively with colleagues delivering the Guild’s student groups, societies, activities and volunteering work as part the Engagement Directorate.

The Student Groups Coordinator roles are to develop the capacity of the student groups within the Guild to enable students to maximise their potential. The support will include the administration of relevant training, tailored support for specific initiatives and assisting groups to plan for their year through attracting membership and delivering their activities.

We are looking for applicants who have experience of dealing with customers both face-to-face and online, over the telephone and via e-mail, with twelve months relevant experience in an administrative role and responsibility for managing and developing administrative systems; along with experience of developing relationships with students and stakeholders to deliver objectives.

The St Mungo’s Pan London Rough Sleeping Teams (No Second Night Out and Somewhere Safe to Stay) provide a rapid response service, intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough. We are currently looking for people to join our teams as Night Assessment Workers in our No Second Night Out Assessment Hubs. In these roles you will: 

• Work as part of a busy team environment working closely with those affected by rough sleeping. 

• Provide a safe and supportive environment at night to clients; carrying out assessment when clients first arrive out the service.  

• Work on a 7 day weekly night rota pattern with an average of 3 waking night shifts in a row (for example 8pm–8.30am or 9pm–8am)

What you'll do:

- Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader/ Manager.
- Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions.

The Role of Safeguarding Administrator

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Coventry Diocesan Safeguarding team as a Safeguarding Administrator. 

You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully with a range of stakeholders. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written will be key, as well as working collaboratively within a team.

The main responsibilities of the Safeguarding Administrator are:

• To provide effective and efficient administrative and logical support to the diocesan safeguarding team ensuring that all systems contribute to the delivery of high-quality service and the smooth running of the diocesan safeguarding teams work.
• Overseeing the team’s diary management, booking internal and external meetings
• Minute taking meetings including safeguarding meetings
• Screening calls and emails for the diocesan safeguarding team from a range of stake holders including those who may have vulnerabilities, using your initiative to respond to enquiries, delegate safeguarding referrals to the relevant members of the team
• Maintain and update relevant databases and recording systems, ensuring accurate records
• Be responsible for DBS administration of Parish Safeguarding Officers
• Developing knowledge of safeguarding policy to advise appropriately on matters relating to general parish safeguarding such as safer recruitment, training and parish dashboard
• Provide general administrative support, as deemed appropriate by the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor

Level 3 Advocacy qualification and a working knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and/or Mental Health would be desirable but, we can offer training. We will need you to be able to work from home but also as part of a large team, with the confidence to engage with a variety of audiences. You will need to have skills in communicating with a variety of different people. The people we support at The Advocacy People are often in the process of some difficult decisions and you will need to be supportive and boundaried in your approach.

As this role is home based with regular travel, mainly but not exclusively in the Southwark area, you must have access to both a stable home broadband service and your own transport as well as flexibility with working hours. We also need you to live in the London area.

1. Assist in project planning, implementation, and monitoring under the guidance of senior team members.
2. Contribute to research, data analysis, and report preparation for key initiatives and milestones.
3. Provide administrative assistance, including collating key feedback and test run reports from various stakeholders, organising documentation for each stage of project implementation.
4. Participate in training programs, workshops, and skill-building activities to enhance your professional competencies.
5. Work collaboratively with team members and cross-departmental colleagues to achieve project goals and deliverables.

About you :

To be successful in this role:

1. Education to a Bachelor's degree in Finance/Law or similar field from an accredited institution
2. Knowledge and understanding of due diligence and compliance.
3. Strong academic record and a passion for the nonprofit sector and social impact.
4. Knowledge of International development interventions in Asia & Africa.
5. Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
