Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. Purpose of the People & Culture Assistant role: 

To work as part of the People and Culture team to provide a professional, high quality, timely, customer focused HR recruitment/contractual administration/transactional service to key internal stakeholders, job applicants and support closely on people and culture activities especially the Learning and Development workstream.

Key duties and responsibilities of the People & Culture Assistant:

To provide high quality HR administrative support across the full spectrum of the employee lifecycle, including:

· Conducting pre-employment checks for new starters (references, DBS, Right to Work in UK)

· Recruitment administration (writing and posting adverts, shortlisting, arranging interviews) 

· Absence management

· Preparation and issue of contractual documentation (including contract variations) 

· Payroll updates 

· Maternity/Paternity administration 

· Administration of performance management and improvement systems (probation, Appraisals, PIP forms)

· Termination of employment (all categories, including writing leaver documentation and conducting Exit Interviews) 

· Upkeep of electronically stored personal records 

· Conducting regular HR Audit checks to ensure integrity of data is maintained 

· Supporting the P+C Manager on all other aspects of HR administration

What we are looking for in our People & Culture Assistant:

· Experience of working in a complex administrative role within HR

· Experience of using HR/Payroll/recruitment ATS online systems

· Good numeracy and literacy skills

· Awareness of employment legislation

· Ability to effectively organise and work to tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail

· Ability to work independently and a willingness to contribute to team efficiency through sharing information and supporting others

· Experience of providing informal training/coaching to colleagues in relation to administrative tasks

· Proficient in the use of software packages and Microsoft office software

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join us as a Regional Volunteer Team Leader, based from home, located within easy reach of Oldham, Manchester with some time spent at a centre and travel across the region.

These activities could take place within our centres, branches, regionally, and/or within a project.

We are looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to provide a range of stimulating activities for children aged 0 - 2 years in line with the Early Years Foundation stage. You will work as part of a team, led by Early years Co-ordinator.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

• Provide individually or as part of a team, practical quality care, support interventions and range of activities and experiences to children, young people, and families, as advised and in line with agreed plans.
• Be alert to child protection and safeguarding issues and inform appropriate line managers about concerns in line with our safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Facilitating early years group meetings.
• Contributing and supporting team lead in the centre's self-evaluation and action planning.
• Preparing and supervising dedicated areas/rooms within the setting on specific working patterns through planning, managing ratio of children, provision of a stimulating and appropriate range of activities and ensuring health and care needs are met.

The team

The Northern Ireland team sit within the Energy Directorate of Energy Saving Trust. In Northern Ireland, our main focus is to deliver the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP), but we also are involved in other areas of work and deliver campaigns helping NI householders save energy and money.

There are currently four programme support officers who work very closely to support each other in delivering NISEP and report into the project manager of the team. The team also includes an assistant programme manager and is headed up by the programme manager for NI. The team collaborate with external stakeholders regularly and other teams of Energy Saving Trust.

The role     

The programme support officer will be focusing on enabling people in Northern Ireland create warmer homes, reduce their energy bills, and lower their carbon footprint. 

NISEP is an £8 million grant programme that provides funding for energy efficiency measures for domestic and commercial properties.  Energy Saving Trust are the programme administrator of NISEP on behalf of the Utility Regulator in Northern Ireland.

The role will provide you with an inspiring opportunity to develop your programme management experience, and develop your knowledge in the Energy Access sector, helping our vulnerable customers.

What you’ll do

• Support the smooth running of the Energy Saving Trust NI programme work, ensuring compliance with processes and procedures.

• A strong focus on the administration of NISEP, including assessing payment claims; reviewing and analysing interim reports as well as other NISEP tasks.

• Liaise with external stakeholders as well as with Energy Saving Trust staff in other offices.

What you’ll bring

• You will be an excellent communicator and will be comfortable dealing with people at all levels. You will develop positive working relationships with all NISEP primary bidders, working closely with them on a day-to-day basis.

Hounslow Young People is Supported Accommodation Service for young people and young parents aged 16-25 in Hounslow. The Service encompasses a mix of units across six sites supporting 57 vulnerable young people and 19 teen parents. In the role of Waking Night Support Worker; individuals will ensure continues support is provided to young people at the standards of day staff with particular focus on safety of vulnerable young people.

About the Role:

Waking Night Support Worker will work in line with person centred risk assessments; support plans and liaise with Support Workers to provide comprehensive handover and partnership working. They will be observant of changes in behaviour and presentations ensuring appropriate actions are taken to document and report changes in support needs of young people. Waking Night Support Worker will be able to carry out all necessary health and safety actions including light cleaning tasks and environment management. Furthermore they will actively seek out ways to work with the team and stakeholders to improve the experience of young people in the service. The role requires individuals to work on a rota pattern including weekend and bank holiday working, as the service is open 365 days a year. Hours worked: 21:30 - 07:30.

What you'll do:

Ensure the welfare of customers providing emotional and practical support to customers who are in distress, in crisis or require medical assistance such as emergency first aid or the intervention of medical professionals.
Remain calm and professional when dealing with emergencies and incidents following the reporting procedures and completing the required paperwork.
Ability to work empathically and compassionately with customers who present with complex needs such as mental health, substance misuse, safeguarding and physical health support needs.

About this role…

Every role at Thames Reach is about ensuring that the users of our services find and sustain a decent home, develop supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. On our structured Traineeship scheme, you’ll gain first-hand experience and on-the-job training in what we do. You’ll be expected to work full time on a rota basis. Our placements involve a range of working patterns such as shifts, including evenings and weekends, night work in our fast-paced Rapid Response Outreach team and Monday to Friday 9-5 roles.

The key features are:

• A thorough induction, followed by two six-month placements at our projects, one of which will be hostel-based.

• With supervision and training from experienced staff to help our clients to get off and stay off the street with access to appropriate services.

The Community Fundraising Team The Community Fundraising Team at Children with Cancer UK raises just under one million pounds annually. Our community fundraisers take on their own fundraising activities or taking part in one of our fundraising products. Abbots Bank is a mental health, supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.
 
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. 

Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. From 1st June 2024 Richmond Fellowship will be merging with the mental health charity Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades.
