We are looking for an experienced manager with an accountancy qualification to join our Finance team for an initial period of one year. Managing the Accounting & Budgeting and Payroll teams, you will be responsible for the compilation and production of management accounts, budgets and annual finance reports, ensuring the integrity and completeness of the accounting records. You will ensure compliance with taxation rules, regulations and accounting standards and liaise with investment managers over the PCS investment portfolio.
You will bring your experience of working at a professional accountant level in the finance function of an organisation, producing management accounts and participating in the external audit process. You will be able to demonstrate your accounting knowledge and how you keep up to date with developments in financial management and taxation. A knowledge of contract and compliance management is essential.

Our Associate Property Advisers are all extraordinary people: senior property professionals. As part of this team, you will be assigned projects to lead on or supporting other members. You will use your communication skills to gain the trust of our clients, many of whom support vulnerable people in challenging circumstances, and empower them to expand their property knowledge and confidence. Victim Support is proud to have been commissioned to provide an Affected by Crime (ABC) service across Humberside which will provide a single point of contact for victims of all crime, whether or not they have reported to the police, to receive support and information.
The ABC service will be a valuable point of contact for anyone affected by crime at any time to contact and receive help, support and information. It will be a busy and fast paced hub, receiving calls of varying nature from a variety of people.

The role of Initial Support Agent (known internally as a Triage and Early Interventions Officer (TEIO)) is a fast paced one which requires the post holder to answer incoming calls and make outgoing calls to victims of crime and those accessing the Affected By Crime (ABC) service in Humberside.
The role will include calls to and from individuals, as well as administration of cases on the case management system, needs assessing and providing early intervention support.

About the role:
Your role as a TEIO will be to answer and speak to incoming callers as well as to hold a caseload and make outgoing calls to those affected by crime. You will be the primary contact for the Hub across Humberside and will be the face of the service.
As a TEIO, you will;
- answer incoming calls, speak to those affected by crime and hold a caseload
- make outgoing calls, assess needs and risks and action plan with callers
- work on the case management system to allocate cases, provide administration on cases and assess/ensure data quality
- liaise with other agencies where required to find out more information, give information or make referrals or give signposting information
- work with the wider team to ensure an effective, trauma informed service is given to those affected by crime
You will be a confident, compassionate and empathic person who can work well under pressure. You will be speaking to people who may be upset, angry or in emotional difficulties and will need to be composed, empathic and be able to quickly assess situations.
You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.

The Role
You’ll lead on the procurement, management and monitoring of different service contracts across our business, from grounds maintenance to tree surgery! You’ll be developing and implementing contract management frameworks, as well as undertaking regular performance reviews.
Customer involvement is a key part of this role, gaining their insights and support when services are procured, and ongoing monitoring, through inspections and customer satisfaction. You’ll be responsible for ensuring customers are kept informed about performance and variations to contracts, as well liaising with customers to resolve issues and complaints. You’ll also be responsible for providing performance related data for internal and external reporting.
Our ideal candidate?
- You’ll be a customer-focussed individual with experience of developing and managing stakeholder relationships to provide high standards of service.
- You’ll have knowledge of communal / estates management services and budgets, contract management frameworks and financial controls.
- You’ll also have experience of managing others, as well as monitoring performance.
- Having knowledge and exposure to ensuring and enhancing compliance is key to this role, as well as being keen to continuously improve services.
- Managing approximately 15 contracts at different stages of their lifecycle, you’ll be highly organised, and be able to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ideally, you will have a sound knowledge of service charges and how these are calculated, although this is not essential.

About the role and team
Working within the wider Supporter Acquisition and Retention teams, you will play a crucial role in creating engaging onboarding journeys for Shelter supporters, ensuring engagement is high throughout. As Safeguarding Lead, you will implement the model with a designated group of dioceses and cathedrals on a pilot basis. Subsequently, you will support the roll-out of the model across the Church to onboard dioceses and cathedrals that were not involved in the pilot. You will also provide the ongoing support to a specific group of dioceses and cathedrals.
Northern Region Safeguarding Lead (hybrid work arrangement) You will work with individual dioceses and cathedrals in the North of England. This role offers hybrid working options, working from home and from our office in Central London. This group of dioceses and cathedrals for the pilot includes Blackburn Cathedral, York Minster, the diocese of Newcastle, and both the Cathedral and diocese of Lincoln.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Working in partnership with a group of dioceses and cathedrals, the roles are responsible for co-ordinating and leading the operational implementation of the four work streams which comprise the overall IICSA Recommendations 1 & 8 and Regional Model Pilot Project:
1. IICSA Recommendation 1: the introduction and operation of the DSO (Diocese Safeguarding Officer) and the CSO (Cathedral Safeguarding Officer) roles, including the wider system changes required.
This will include the professional supervision and quality assurance of the work of the DSO/CSO roles, which will include:
Advice and guidance on individual cases and safeguarding-related situations and developments
Encouragement of curiosity about different hypotheses for understanding cases and safeguarding situations
Reflection on self, exploring what influences the CSO/DSO's perspectives and what impact safeguarding situations have on the CSO/DSO
Analysis, making connections with relevant research findings and theory
Quality assuring the work of the CSO/DSO, providing feedback and identifying professional development and support needs
[NB: A model of professional supervision has been selected and the Safeguarding Leads will be trained in the model].
2. Regional support model / Northern Region
For Regional Safeguarding Leads:
Development and piloting of a regional model of support
This will involve working with a cluster of dioceses and cathedrals collectively to enhance positive outcomes through, for example:
Joint working, sharing of resources and other mutual support arrangements
Joint commissioning of specific services
Peer auditing
Development of survivor engagement arrangements
Sharing of best practice
Group as well as individual supervision
Strengthening connections with other Church bodies and relevant services in the region
For Northern Safeguarding Leads:
Development and piloting of forms of support customised to the needs of individual dioceses and cathedrals
The Safeguarding Lead will be expected to promote creative approaches to practice development to achieve good safeguarding outcomes.
3. Quality Assurance development
Working with the Research and Evaluation Lead roles in the NST to support dioceses and cathedrals with the introduction and further development of the Church's draft national safeguarding standards and quality assurance framework. This will include contributing to the design of the independent auditing arrangements as required by IICSA Recommendation 8.
4. The safeguarding function and resource assessment
Clarifying the range of the safeguarding responsibilities of dioceses and cathedrals, what this means for different roles, and the structure and skill sets required for diocesan and cathedral safeguarding services. From this, developing an objective methodology for determining the resources that dioceses and cathedrals need to deliver safeguarding to a good standard.
5. Relationships with internal stakeholders in dioceses and cathedrals
The Safeguarding Lead will establish effective relationships with key stakeholders within the dioceses and cathedrals they are working with - in particular, their senior leadership teams and Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panels or equivalent in cathedrals. This will include providing evidence-based feedback in respect of the quality and capacity of safeguarding functions within the diocese and/or cathedral. This will highlight areas of strength, as well as areas needing development, including systemic vulnerabilities.
6. Relationship with external stakeholders
The Leadership teams of dioceses and cathedrals are responsible for the development of effective partnerships with external statutory and non-statutory bodies. The Safeguarding Lead will support the leadership teams within dioceses and cathedrals in the strengthening of relations with statutory and non-statutory organisations where necessary, including providing help to identify and remove obstacles to effective partnership working.
The roles will evolve during the course of the pilot stage.

The digital team at Breast Cancer Now are leading a transformation in how we present our information and services to people affected by breast cancer. Job purpose
The Science Manager – Super Pollutants will manage technical elements of multi-lateral partnerships and coalitions, oversee a portfolio of research grants and projects, and strategically generate and communicate data and evidence to drive funders, governments and non-profits to work effectively towards reducing black carbon emissions globally.
Scope of role
The post holder will oversee work to reduce scientific uncertainties and bottlenecks around black carbon and other super pollutants to support policy goals and ultimately accelerate emissions reductions.
This position will
Develop a strategy and manage the implementations for research projects;
Bring together the science community and generate shared goals;
Lead on technical elements of the organisation’s work with intergovernmental organisations, governments and non-profits.
Be responsible for outreach and engagement with academic institutions, multilateral agencies, and other stakeholders.
It’s a hugely influential role and will span climate change, air pollution and public health fields.
As you would expect it will require a deep understanding of the latest science and a strategic approach to how science can advance international policy matters on black carbon and other super pollutants.

Reporting to the Campaigns Director, the Head of Policy and Research will work closely with other members of the Campaigns team ensure Oceana UK’s campaigns are scientifically robust and promoting sound policies. The role will help Oceana to carve out its niche and leadership in this complex campaigning landscape and drive forward bold policy positioning and hard-hitting research that inspire meaningful change.
Eligible candidates should have experience in both policy and research, as well as being strategic and proactive. They should be a self-starter, have leadership experience, and have a strong ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
This role will be based in our Paddington, London office three days per week (Tues-Thurs) with two days home working (Mon and Fri). It reports to the Campaigns Director.
Role Overview:
Policy:
Ø Lead on all projects relating to improvements in UK fisheries policies – including interpretation, analysis and engagement on existing and potential policies.
Ø Lead on all work relating to improvements in UK marine policies more broadly (e.g. MPAs; pollution; MSP; offshore energies) - including interpretation, analysis, and engagement on existing and potential policies.
Ø Advise on the strategic approach that Oceana UK takes to policy work.
Ø Respond to government policy consultations linked to our campaign areas (or coordinate our response with internal staff/consultants), and contribute to group responses (e.g. Wildlife & Countryside Link).
Ø Engage effectively with government civil servants on relevant policy matters.
Ø Engage collaboratively with policy counterparts within NGO partners where required.
Ø Draft robust, evidence-based policy positions; advise Senior Leadership Team on new or existing policy positions; and provide reactive policy advice when required.
Research:
Ø Lead, manage and coordinate all research projects for Oceana UK (including scientific, legislative and legal research) working closely with the campaigns team.
Ø Coordinate closely with wider campaigns team to understand, plan for and agree research opportunities and needs.
Ø Commission and manage external researchers where required.
Ø Advise on the strategic approach that Oceana UK takes to research.
Ø Engage effectively with research focused government agencies (e.g. JNCC, Cefas, Natural England. Marine Management Organisation).
Ø Communicate and collaborative effectively with research counterparts within other NGOs as required.
Ø Ensure that all research projects are managed and delivered on time and to budget.
Ø Provide research input and advice to policy and campaigning discussions.
Ø Ensure that Oceana UK’s research is ethical, robust and peer reviewed.
Ø Present Oceana UK’s research at relevant forums as required.
Overarching:
Ø Work closely and as part of the Leadership Team, communicating policy and research priorities and assisting organisational decision making.
Ø Help to lead the London office providing direction, guidance and promoting a positive working culture with other members of the team.
Ø Line management of one member of staff.
Ø Represent Oceana UK at relevant external forums.
Ø Provide policy and research input to comms outputs including press releases, blogs and social media posts.
Ø Contribute to Oceana UK’s monitoring and evaluation activities including:
o Feed into board reporting documents with policy goals and achievements.
o Provide policy input into donor reports and bids.
Ø Provide policy and research input to annual planning processes.
Ø Manage relevant policy and research budget lines, including forecasting and annual budget setting.
Candidate Requirements
Education and work experience:
Ø At least 5 years of professional experience in policy and/or research, ideally in oceans or the environment.
Ø Experience leading and developing a strategic approach to policy and research, and integrating this with campaigns goals.
Ø Experience working closely and collaboratively with campaigns colleagues.
Ø Experience lobbying and negotiating with civil servants in government on policy matters.
Ø Experience commissioning, managing and analysing complex research projects and ensuring their application to policy work and/or campaign delivery.
Ø Experience developing and writing strategic plans, contributing to planning and budgeting processes.
Ø Postgraduate degree in fisheries, marine biology, oceanography, or a related field.
Ø Line management experience.
Skills and knowledge:
Ø Demonstrable experience of engaging policymakers, with an ability to confidently communicate policy with high level stakeholders and engage effectively in relevant debates and negotiations.
Ø Familiarity with fisheries or marine and environmental regulations, legislation and policies in the UK, as well as with the key institutions and decision-making processes.
Ø Proficiency at understanding and distilling complex scientific issues for policy, campaigning and communications purposes.
Ø Highly skilled in evidential and research methodology best practice.
Ø Strong writing skills, with experience writing policy positions and research briefs.
Ø Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
Ø Strong project management skills, with demonstrable experience managing multiple workstreams effectively.
Ø Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

support as many bereaved families as possible in Scotland to grieve, honour and remember their
precious baby.
Expertise in strategic planning, financial management, and effective charity governance is critical.
Our CEO must guide our hard-working and dedicated team as we refine our offer and build our
impact and reach within Scotland.
Our CEO, along with all of our team, will have contact with people who have experienced the loss
of a baby; parents, family members, friends, colleagues and healthcare professionals who are
