Established in 1860, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home aims to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help, caring for them until their owners or loving new homes can be found, no matter how long it takes. We are champions for, and supporters of, vulnerable dogs and cats, determined to create lasting changes for animals in our society. Every year, we care for over 8,000 dogs and cats.
As part of a transformational growth strategy the Home has invested heavily in a new fundraising team and activities, increasing income more than tenfold since 2010 and substantially reducing an over reliance on legacy income.
Our fundraising programme has grown rapidly across all areas; most notably by developing a significant individual donor base, establishing a major gifts programme and launching new corporate partnerships, events and community fundraising activity. Yet the opportunity to increase our impact for animals through growing a significant and sustainable income base remains considerable and our fundraising team are set to achieve ambitious year-on-year growth in order transform the lives of the animals in our care.

Mass participation events and community fundraising products promoted through direct marketing are a vital part of a new fundraising strategy, and as part of this fast paced, dynamic team, you will play an important part in rising to the exciting challenge of maximising the many untapped opportunities for the marketing of mass participation events and products at the Home.
Main purpose of the role
To support the Senior Direct Marketing Manager by developing operational and strategic budgets and plans for the Direct Marketing (Challenge & Community) programme, which fit within the wider Direct Marketing and Public Fundraising objectives and maximise income. Working across a mix of donor acquisition and retention the plans and campaigns will ensure strategic goals are met and our plans for significant expansion are achieved. Be responsible for the marketing of mass participation events and products, implementing these plans, manage the income and expenditure budgets and forecasts and ensure campaigns are delivered on time and on budget.
