Direct Marketing Officer – initial 6 month FTC
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to provide comprehensive and professional project management of direct marketing campaigns within a friendly and successful Direct Marketing Department at one of the UK’s most prominent charity organisations.
They fund world-class research to develop new treatments and ways to prevent the devastation of this condition. Breakthroughs in treatment have halved the number of people dying in the UK but it is still one of the biggest killers in the world. That is why they are involved in projects across the globe and why they need you to carry on this crucial mission.
An initial 6-month contract with the possibility to go permeant. Part home-working will be considered. Reporting to the Direct Marketing Manager, the Direct Marketing Officer will be responsible for taking lead responsibility for effective project management of individual direct marketing campaigns (including appeals, postal and e-newsletters, raffles, telemarketing, face to face, e-mail broadcast and social media) to ensure that our donor development and donor acquisition programmes are effective and generate maximum income within agreed expenditure budgets.
To take lead responsibility for effective project managing individual direct marketing campaigns including appeals & newsletters off/on line, raffles, lotteries and competition websites, telemarketing, F2F, e-mail broadcast and social media.
To be responsible for, sourcing agencies and project managing new fundraising initiatives, such as DRTV, social media marketing, pay per click (PPC) campaigns, crowdfunding, programmatic advertising, content sharing and mobile marketing.
To be responsible for sourcing case studies, liaising with suppliers, coordinating the data for all DM campaigns, proof checking and copywriting for all print materials and digital content. Ensuring all elements are completed to agreed timescales and within agreed expenditure budgets and KPIs
You will have a proven track record in direct marketing (ideally in the charity sector) with an emphasis in digital fundraising and demonstrate strong project management experience, working well under pressure.
Experience of copy writing, producing reports and proofing documentation is essential as is the ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritising your own workload, working on your own initiative in a fast-paced environment. You should have excellent organisational and communication skills and be competent in Microsoft Office products.
Experience of charity fundraising (highly desirable but not essential)
Experience of direct marketing - ideally with an emphasis on digital fundraising and social media
Experience of project management
Experience of proof reading
Experience of copy writing and digital content
Experience of print and production processes
Experience of using a customer/supporter database
