We are the country’s largest single provider of specialist support to women and children experiencing domestic violence, rape and sexual assault, ‘honour based’ violence and forced marriage, stalking, female genital mutilation, forced prostitution, modern slavery and human trafficking.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding, innovative and senior fundraising leader, with excellent knowledge of philanthropy, and a proven track record of income generation from corporates, high net worth individuals, events, legacies and trusts. A key member of the senior management team, and working closely with a high profile Chief Executive, you will develop and empower a strong team of professional fundraisers to generate and drive sustainable growth in voluntary income over the short and long term. You will create and lead our fundraising and marketing strategy to deliver a step-change in income generation and contribute to the organisation’s business strategy. You will work with staff across Refuge to enable a culture and approach that values collaboration, ambition and innovation.

You will have the gravitas and credibility to manage internal and external relationships at the highest level and inspire others through your vision and passion for our cause. You will also be committed to the feminist principles of empowerment and equality that underpin Refuge’s work.
There has never been a more exciting time to join Refuge. In the last year, we have grown our services by 30% and have recently embarked on a new project supporting the Evening Standard’s new ‘Slaves on our Streets’ campaign raising awareness of modern slavery in the capital, reaching out to victims and raising funds for specialist support services.
This is a career-defining opportunity for a talented fundraiser to make an enormous difference to thousands of women and children across the country. To succeed in this position, you will be highly motivated, energetic and have the drive and confidence to work at a senior level and a proven track record of successfully soliciting gifts and grants at six figure levels from high net worth individuals, and those in the business world.
This is a full-time role based in central London, reporting to the CEO. Some out of hours work may be required. Highly competitive salary, with 28 days holiday, pension scheme, employee assistance programme and a childcare voucher scheme.
