CPRE Oxfordshire is looking for a Director to develop campaigns and co-ordinate our volunteer network to protect the countryside of Oxfordshire. Work with us towards a beautiful and thriving countryside that’s accessible to everyone.
CPRE (the Countryside Charity) was set up 100 years ago with the aims of the ‘conservation of what is beautiful and interesting in our countryside and towns and villages; and the encouragement of the right type of development’. Today these words are just as relevant as when they were written in the 1920s and we campaign for good planning, protection from speculative development and the enhancement of nature and accessibility of our green spaces.
CPRE Oxfordshire is an independent charity, federated with 40+ county charities and a national office, giving us local, regional and national reach. The Director will work with our Trustees and network of volunteers to formulate local strategy, run local campaigns and liaise with the National Charity. The Director is assisted by a small staff team.
We are looking for an exceptional individual who can work with and motivate volunteers, take a strategic view on issues affecting the Oxfordshire countryside and represent CPRE at County and National forums. The role also involves management of the small staff team, the oversight of our finances and fundraising.
We’re committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace at CPRE, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because diverse workplaces can make better and more creative decisions. Whatever your background, we welcome your application. However people from ethnic minority backgrounds and disabled people are underrepresented in the environment sector. So, if you identify as either, we’d love to hear from you.
CPRE Oxfordshire promotes the beauty, tranquillity and diversity of rural Oxfordshire by encouraging the sustainable use of land and other natu...

The Wiener Holocaust Library is one of the world’s leading and most extensive archives on the Holocaust, the Nazi era and genocide. The Library’s unique collection of over one million items includes published and unpublished works, press cuttings, photographs and eyewitness testimony.
This year we celebrate our 90th birthday.
The Library has its origins in the work of Dr Alfred Wiener, who campaigned against Nazism during the 1920s and 30s and gathered evidence about antisemitism and the persecution of Jews in Germany.
We have a consistent track record of being able to generate the voluntary income needed on an annual basis in support of our core work, but we recognise that with additional resource we can achieve much more to both secure the long-term future of the Library and enhance our work.
This new role has been established to lead and implement the engagement strategy with both individual and organisational donors that builds a sustainable pipeline of philanthropic support to maintain and extend the work of the Wiener Holocaust Library and to secure its legacy for future generations in combating hate.
While the Library has a commendable track record for restricted funding, there is a strong need to increase unrestricted funding, which requires that we are effective in achieving greater diversity in our income streams and the donor constituency.
Our potential reach extends beyond the UK and our track record to date includes successfully engaging with U.S. funders, which is a foundation that can be built upon.
How to apply
Application is by way of CV and a Supporting Statement, which should outline your motivations for wanting to be our first Director of Development and set out your credentials.

Read moreSINCE 9/11 are seeking a dynamic and driven leader to manage the charity through its next phase of development.
The Charity Director will be responsible for managing the charity on a day to day basis throughout its next phase of development: developing and implementing the strategy for the organisation, building its capability to deliver this strategy through fundraising activities and putting in place a small team; driving awareness of the SINCE 9/11 Education Programme among key audiences and overseeing the financial administration of the charity, in line with the goals set out by the charity trustees.
CHARITY DIRECTOR ROLE OVERVIEW
This is an important and exciting time for the charity. More than 20 years after the horrific events of 9/11, with our acclaimed SINCE 9/11 education programmes for schools (developed by the world no.1 UCL Institute of Education) and our strategy and vision for the future both now in place, we want to drive the charity even further forward.
Our work remains as important as ever, teaching young people across the UK – who weren’t even born in September 2001 – about the events, causes and consequences of 9/11 and subsequent terrorist atrocities.
In a world where extremism and terrorism pose a huge risk, both to life and to the pluralist ideals of democratic societies, SINCE 9/11 seeks to lead the way in educating young people and steering society towards a more peaceful and tolerant future. In order to do so, we are now seeking a talented, driven and engaging leader who can take our charity to the next level. We believe that we have a high-quality programme to take into schools and other settings working with young people; our challenge now is to ensure that our programme reaches as many schools as possible.
We therefore need a leader who is confident and creative in building relationships with schools, academy trusts, local authorities, subject associations and teaching unions; someone who is familiar with the national education environment. Supported by a high-profile and committed board, our new director will be tasked with putting all of their energy into building those relationships and ensuring that we have a step change in the number of young people accessing our programme.
We believe that doing so will bring us long term financial sustainability and thus the ability to grow and develop our programmes further. In the tough operating environment, with schools currently facing many challenges of their own, we know this will be no easy task. The Board will be ready and willing to support you in any way that we can, as we recognise that appointing a dynamic, committed director is crucial to a continuing successful future for SINCE 9/11.

Do you want to work in a great team with big social impact? Are you passionate about making Bradford a fairer city? If you’ve got a track record of income generation, working closely with a board of trustees or directors and you’re brilliant at building strong relationships, our Business Development Director role might be the job for you.
GiveBradford is an independent grant maker, the place for giving in Bradford, and we’re building a movement. Working collaboratively with leaders, community organisations and donors, we’re strengthening the future of Bradford’s communities by generating income and impact across the District.
We're looking for a Business Development Director to lead on the implementation of GiveBradford’s recently reviewed strategy, with a specific focus on fundraising and business development. You will be instrumental in determining the charity’s future strategy as our impact in the district grows. This is an exciting new position, which you can shape and make your own.
Leeds Community Foundation will host this post and you will work closely with their talented and dedicated team, who remain instrumental in further developing our work in Bradford, growing this relatively new charity to be everything the people of Bradford deserve.
The GiveBradford Business Development Manager will:
- play a key role in the leadership, strategic development and governance of Bradford District Community Foundation and in the work of Leeds Community Foundation in Bradford (known collectively as GiveBradford)
- lead on the development/income generation strategy for Bradford and the creation of new relationships with donors whose primary interest is in Bradford and ensure our communications strategy enables this
- deliver on targets to attract immediate impact and endowment funds from major donors
- be comfortable with “making the ask” for contributions in excess of £50,000 and converting prospects to become active donors
- work with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure the development of GiveBradford delivers on its strategy
- hold relationships with the Bradford District Community Foundation board of trustees and co-ordinate reporting and planning for their meetings
The ideal candidate will have:
- a passion for Bradford and District and the role of its grassroots community organisations in creating social change
- a track record of income generation and partnership development with corporate and individual donors
- experience of reporting to, or working with, a board of trustees or directors
- excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build warm, professional relationships with a wide range of people, including major donors and corporate Chief Executives
- experience of setting and managing organisational or multi-programme/ product budgets
We're looking forward to hearing from you!

Maccabi GB
Director of Fundraising
£55,000 - £60,000
Full-time, permanent
Harrow and remote
Maccabi GB is Britain’s leading Anglo-Jewish Sports, Health and Wellbeing Charity and has flourished for over 80 years. Our vision is for a healthy, active and proud Jewish community integrated within British society.
We are already widely recognised for our contributions to the British Jewish community through sports and educational initiatives. While we enjoy substantial income from an existing and loyal supporter base, the charity is not immune from the uncertainties stemming from economic fluctuations, amplified operational expenses, and heightened competition for funding.
Establishing a sustainable fundraising strategy becomes imperative therefore to foster growth and create an impact within a challenging economic landscape. The goal is to seamlessly integrate fundraising more professionally with the charity's fresh vision, mission, and values.
Maccabi GB boasts a diverse array of projects that offer significant fundraising potential and the opportunity to engage with diverse range of individual, organisational and civil society donors who can be inspired by what we do.
Future success will require the development of a cohesive fundraising strategy that is fully aligned with our vision and the objectives that we set ourselves in pursuit of our mission. This will need to be underpinned by a tight and effective operational framework that manages donor relationships effectively and ensures that decisions are always data driven and founded upon a solid business case.
The new role of Director of Fundraising has been established to lead this exciting development. There is a solid foundation upon which to build, and there is the commitment from the Board of Trustees and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that you will be able to succeed. You will also have the active support from colleagues across the organisation.
