Job Title: Fundraiser
Reporting to: Executive Director
Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 pa depending on experience (prorated for part-time hours)
Hours: 24 hours per week

Location: The role will be a virtual role with occasional requirement to attend meetings or events in person (including weekend or evening events).
The role:
Our charity is growing, and we are now looking for our first employed Fundraiser who will take the lead on all fundraising activities and will be responsible for helping us raise funds from Trusts and Corporates. The role will be focused on grant bidwriting and will include exploration and development of other partnerships, as well as helping us develop other areas of fundraising activity such as individual giving.
The Fundraiser will be part of a small dedicated team who work to help families and professionals to support children and young people with ADHD. You will lead the way in helping open doors to potential new funding opportunities helping the charity achieve their mission of providing better knowledge and understanding of ADHD and supporting young people with the condition.
The duties: The role will cover the following tasks:

Grants:

Researching and creating a pipeline for target grant applications and being proactive in identifying grant opportunities.

Agree with Chair and Executive Director annual approach to grants to be targeted ie core vs project.

Prepare draft applications working closely with Executive Director to include relevant case studies and quotes, service statistics, etc.

Coordinate review and sign off process and make submissions within the required deadlines of funders.

Maintain databases on grant applications and ensure all applications and related working papers are filed on the central filing system.

Ensure that monitoring and evaluation forms are completed on a timely basis.

Other partnerships
-
Develop and maintain a plan to identify corporates and other parties to partner with either in sponsorship arrangements, seeking donations or becoming a corporates selected charity to receive organisational support.

Work closely with colleagues on mapping out local corporates and schools to be approached by them.

Awards

Research and identify key awards that we should target for consideration and establish how best to be nominated.

In cases of self-nomination prepare draft and coordinate through review and approval process and ensure timely submission.
Skills Required: The Fundraiser should be a self-starter and motivated.

Experience

This role is 15 hours a week which can be scheduled around your commitments and based from any location. You will have the option to join the team in Bermondsey, central London on occasion but the role can be fully remote.
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and working alongside a full time Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will play a vital role in raising funds to support AVUK’s 10-year plan which will transform the life opportunities for deaf children in the UK. With experience of securing five and six figure sums from Trusts and Foundations and grant making bodies, you will identify and secure high-value partnerships taking us closer to our goal of raising just over £2m a year.
Working closely with the Head of Fundraising, CEO and Senior Management Team, you will develop high-quality, compelling proposals to secure significant funding partnerships that will transform life outcomes for deaf children.
Through exceptional research, bid writing and stewardship you will focus on securing six-figure plus funding partnerships and mange relationships for long term impact.
Research
- Research and identify prospective trusts and foundations and other grant giving bodies
- Grow and maintain a strong trust funding pipeline, creating new trust prospects for our priority funding areas
Fundraising
- Identify and manage a pipeline of high-value prospects and opportunities which have the potential of delivering five and six figure grants.
- Work with colleagues across Auditory Verbal UK to develop and submit high-value and high-quality trust and foundation bids, creating a compelling narrative, budget and outcomes for a range short, medium and long term projects towards our vision
- Develop personalised relationships with Trust and Foundation trustees and trust administrators, maximising every opportunity for cultivation and development
- Plan and organise opportunities for funders to view AVUK’s work first-hand, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and met
- Represent AVUK at face-to-face meetings with donors and prospects, successfully engaging them with the charities aims and objectives
Reporting
- Compile comprehensive and compelling progress reports to feed back to grant makers in a timely fashion and incentivise continued support
- Alongside the Director of Finance and Operations, prepare accurate budgets detailing spending of specific grants
- Draw down on any multi-year grants as outlined in our annual budget
- Provide briefing notes and income pipeline on donor activities and potential funding opportunities
Essential
- Demonstrable success in securing six figure partnerships
- Proven experience of devising budgets and project plans and reporting against them
- Understanding of sector best practice and relevant fundraising/charity legislation
- Highly skilled communicator with fine-tuned influencing and relationship building skills
Desirable

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The role is essential to delivering the charities income targets for Trusts and Foundations and developing long term relationships. In addition, the post holder will support the Head of Income Generation with approaching, reporting, and maintaining Trust and Foundation relationships for major appeals.
he Fundraising Officer will work as part of the Fundraising team and focus on delivering income targets from trusts and foundations. The role is responsible for growing LDCT’s trust and foundation income by increasing the amount and longevity of funding from current supporters, as well as building a portfolio of new trusts and foundations through research, maintaining a pipeline of prospects, updating the Funding Matrix and making successful applications. Building good relationships with new funders including regular reporting, as well as good stewardship of existing funders, is an important part of the role.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Delivering on fundraising priorities and targets for trusts and foundations income, including our current and future major appeals.
- Researching, identifying, and prioritising appropriate trusts and foundations to maintain and convert a pipeline of new, prospective trusts and foundations.
- Working with colleagues across the organisation to help shape projects for funding and creating strong Cases for Support to ensure effective applications.
- Writing and submitting high quality targeted funding applications.
- Maintaining an effective stewardship programme for trusts and foundations including appropriate accurate records, ensuring the fundraising e-Tapestry database is kept up-todate and that fundraising income is processed efficiently with timely thank you letters and acknowledgements.
- Managing relationships with existing and new funders to encourage maximum funding, multi-year funding awards and repeat funding.
- Monitoring outcomes, updating the Funding Matrix and producing timely reports and information as required externally by funders and internally for Management reporting.
- Promoting the support of funders through press releases and social media posts.
- Adhering to standards of fundraising best practise as set out in the Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Practise and ensuring all activities comply with relevant Data Protection obligations and any other legislation

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Education Team. This role will require the successful candidate to support an integrated and holistic approach to education, health and care, work under the direct supervision of an allocated teacher / senior specialist teaching assistant, support access to learning and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils in learning opportunities and to assist the teacher in providing relevant support for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex therapeutic, medical and health needs.

Role Requirements
STL1 – Provide support for Learning Activities set by Classteacher & Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant
- To support learning activities for individual, groups or whole classes of pupils, leading activities under the direction of the teacher or Senior Teaching Assistant supporting the teacher in their delivery of lessons.
- To demonstrate our School Ethos and Pupil Charter throughout the School day.
- Holistically integrate education, health and care needs.
- Evaluate and record procedures for learning activities.
- To know individual learning targets for each pupil in the group(s) and take specific action to enable individual pupil goals be achieved.

STL 2 – Support Children’s Development
- Observe pupils, sharing observational findings, contribute to the implementation of activities to support development.
- Actively contribute towards record-keeping particularly in respect of pupil learning, therapeutic interventions, behaviour management, child protection and any other specific programme set up for individual pupils by the teacher / Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant / Therapist.
STL 3 – Help to keep Children Safe
- Undertake annual safeguarding training.
- Adhere to the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures and policies. Recording incidents pertaining to pupil safety, including for illness, accidents and incidents, accepting that Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and that ‘it could happen here’.
- Read relevant documentation / mandatory reads in relation to Keeping Children Safe In Education.
- Report any signs and indicators of possible abuse, being sensitive to the child/young person and circumstances, Identifying, report and record changes in behaviour and physical signs.

STL 43 – Assist in the Administration of Medication
- Apply standard precautions for infection control and other relevant health and safety measures.
- Report any discrepancies or omissions you might find to the person in control of the administration and to relevant staff as appropriate.
- Be aware of School procedures.
- Contribute to administering and record keeping of medication to individuals in the appropriate manner, using the correct techniques according to the care plan if signed off as competent in doing so.
- Ensure the security of medications throughout the process and ensure all medication is stored in the correct safe place when administration is complete.
STL 4 – Meet their Personal Support Needs
- Attend to pupils’ personal care needs as and when necessary ensuring care and dignity at all times.
- Assist with the organisation of refreshments and mealtimes, feeding individual pupils where necessary including feeding by gastric tube after receiving the necessary training.
- Support pupils in the water and assist with swimming and or hydrotherapy programmes.
PDR – Take part in School Staff Development Procedures
- Take part in a performance management programme and work towards specific pupil progress and professional development targets.
- Take part in a staff induction programme, and pursue other training opportunities as agreed with the line manager.
- Take part in staff development days, class team meetings, departmental meetings, whole staff meetings and other occasional meetings held in usual working hours.
- To support students and volunteers who work within the classroom from time to time.

- All of our Support Assistants will be expected to work with a range of pupils in their class and maybe requested to work with others across the School.
