Macular Society is recruiting a new Chief Executive Officer to lead our organisation to achieve:
• our vision to end macular disease,
• and our mission to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease by funding world-class research and providing the best advice and support.
To do this our CEO will live our values and enable our teams to succeed by providing exceptional leadership and strategic direction – together we will Beat Macular Disease.
Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with around 300 people diagnosed every day. The Macular Society is the only charity determined to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease with world class research, and the best advice and support.
To support people affected by macular disease now, the Macular Society provides a range of support, information and services. Our research programme is focused on finding new treatments and a cure to Beat Macular Disease forever.
Job title: Chief Executive Officer
Salary: £95,000 - £105,000 p.a.
Location: Andover with Hybrid Working Options. We envisage at least 50% of time to be spent with colleagues working from our Andover office during the first year in post.
Contract: Full time / permanent

We are working in partnership with Kith & Kids, a small North London based charity. Their aim is to empower families who have children (aged from 10 through to middle-aged adults) with learning, physical and/or sensory disabilities, or autism to overcome social isolation, access the services they need or to join in the activities Kith & Kids offers.
Previous winners of the Queen's Golden Jubilee Award for voluntary service by groups in the community, Kith & Kids provides innovative, high-quality projects and services with the support of volunteers. It’s the difference between disabled members watching from the sidelines while others have fun and being able to join in that fun and experience the enjoyment themselves.
The board of trustees are looking for a special individual who is eager to be part of the next phase of this wonderful Charity’s development.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience within the disability field.
- Clear leadership and people-management skills, including the ability to manage, develop and motivate a small staff team.
- Experience in developing and implementing a fundraising strategy.
- Ability to foster strong working partnerships with key funders, trusts and corporate sector, including a strong track record in researching and preparing grant applications.
- Sound financial acumen, ability to set/manage budgets, comfortable having financial oversight/control of the Charity.
The successful candidate will have energy, integrity, and adaptability, with innate compassion, sensitivity and good humour. These qualities inspire trust and confidence in the CEO amongst disabled members, their families, the staff team, volunteers, and trustees.
You will be a first-class communicator, with excellent organisational and time-management skills.

I am recruiting for one of my key clients, based in Central London – they are in need of an experienced interim who can come in and hit the ground running quickly, covering a medical absence.
A 6 month assignment is offered and an interim Finance Business Partner: Fundraising is sought.
1-2 days a week on site is required and you would be supporting a very forward thinking, dynamic Executive Director of Fundraising, who is fantastic to work with!
You would manage one person in this role and report directly to the Head of Finance.
The client is looking for someone specifically with a not for profit focussed background, a solid finance business partnering skills set and specifically for someone who has supported the fundraising division of a charity in previous roles, in this capacity.
