This is a key leadership role in this vibrant, user-led charity based in Richmond and Wandsworth. You will be providing leadership and direction to 5 team leads/managers as well as leading and directing development to increase the scope and depth of the services we offer. Ruils is a charity supports disabled children and adults, to live independently, be part of their community and to live life to the full. We provide information, advice, practical support, befriending and accessible activities to our clients and families. We enable individuals to have choice and control over the way in which they get their support.

The Adult Services Team Manager is one of 3 team managers reporting to our Chief Executive Officer. The services managed include Direct Payment Support across Richmond and Wandsworth, Befriending and Community Activities, our Benefits and Housing Advice and Information service and our Counselling service.

We constantly research and develop services to meet the identified needs of the community and this role would suit someone who wants a good level of autonomy to develop new ideas.

The Adults Services Manager works alongside our Children’s Team Manager and our Social Prescribing and Community Development Manager, supported by Finance, Fundraising and Campaigns and Communications Managers.

Purpose of Post

• To be responsible for the management of the Support Services to Direct Payment clients in Richmond and Wandsworth.
• To be responsible for the research and development of adult services in Richmond and Wandsworth.
• To oversee promotion, monitoring and delivery of the CILS, Pathways and Counselling services.
• To provide leadership and supervision, performance evaluation and general support for all of the adult services team managers and leads
• To be responsible for adult safeguarding and health and safety across the organisation.

Main Duties include:

Management of Direct Payment Support Service

• Lead and manage the Direct Payment Support Service across Richmond and Wandsworth Boroughs through an experienced DP Project Manager.
• Provide support to the DP Project Manager to resolve complex DP HR management issues around the area of employment law.
• Support the Project Manager in their work with the local authority to set targets for the project, monitor performance against these targets and identify and resolve any issues that arise.
• Report as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees
• Work with the DP Project Manager and the CEO on new DP projects and funding applications as required.

CILS, Pathways and Counselling Teams

• Lead and manage the delivery of the Community activity, Befriending, Pathways and Counselling services.
• Work with the CILS partners to ensure that the service is meeting Local Authority targets
• Report as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees
• Responsible for ensuring active promotion of the services to potential and existing clients and stakeholders and to ensure representation of Ruils at networking events.
• Work with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to ensure projects are fully funded and demand is well managed.

General Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring safeguarding policies and principles are upheld across Adult Teams.
• Responsible for Health and Safety across the organisation.

Growing Hope seeks a highly-motivated and experienced Director of Operations who is passionate about our mission. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the charity’s essential operations.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our finance, HR, IT, and governance functions. This will provide the backbone for Growing Hope to continue making a tangible difference in the world and ensure the charity’s long-term sustainability and growth.

This role will report to the CEO of the charity and will work closely as part of the Senior Leadership team. The Operations Director will have oversight of HR, IT, Operations, Finance and Governance within the charity. This will involve line management of the Finance Officer and Operations Officer in the team. As the charity grows we want to ensure that we have strong governance, processes and financial reporting across Growing Hope and the local charities. The role

The Head of Practice leads on best practice and practice development across Business Disability Forum. This includes leading and overseeing the work of the Advice Service to support our members and Partners and acting as the primary referral point for complex queries, collating and sharing best practice from within our membership and the impact of BDF best practice advice. They will also lead the delivery of the BDF internal upskilling programme to ensure that all Member and Partner facing teams are at the forefront of best practice in delivering high quality advice and support.

They will also work closely with the Content Team to ensure that BDF’s resources reflect the latest best practice and with the Policy Team to ensure BDF’s advice and resources reflect the latest policy and research thinking and to maintain our position as thought leaders.

The requirement

• Experience of leading and managing experts on diversity and inclusion related situations and of motivating.
• A demonstrable track record of relationship building at a senior level leading to tangible results.
• Experience of providing consultancy, training and advice on disability related issues.
• Experience of presenting to senior management and the board.
• Experience of working in human resources, talent management, or organisation development to at least adviser level.
• High level of understanding and knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and recent disability related case law in the UK and Globally.
• Knowledge of disability best practice, topical issues within disability rights and policy and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Main duties and Responsibilities

• Implement the plan as has been specified and agreed by our Board.
• Convene and run a network of employers and members of the autism community to share and discuss good practice.
• Undertake project management across the workstream, managing and monitoring activities and outcomes.
• Identify need, find options, evaluate, enlist and manage service and contract providers; services that are introduced to the network (recruitment and HR advice, financial advice, property advice, franchising advice, pooled procurement).

• Line-manage any future staff employed in this workstream/ project.
• Create and present progress reports as required by the leadership team and board of Trustees.
• Develop and maintain an evaluation system for the whole project.
• Support the Autism Centre of Excellence to manage recruitment and retention in line with best practice.
• Sensitively manage the challenges of organisations holding themselves to account in discharging their responsibilities around employment of autistic people.
• Contribute to other team activities in line with the post-holder’s skills and commensurate with the grade, such as arranging meetings, taking notes, organising and hosting focus groups.

Live out your Christian faith in a fun job, surrounded by excellent kind volunteers and straight talking adults with learning disabilities in a beautiful farm setting near Winchester.  If you love cooking, people and thinking on your feet, then this is the management job for you.  Boaz is a small independent charity that over 100 people a week call their "workplace".  Four days a week around 30 people come to the farm to "work and learn together" doing a whole range of horticulture and other jobs such as cooking, craft, animal care and woodwork.  As Deputy Manager you will help keep the fun levels high, the stress levels low, and people working harmoniously together.  Four days each week you'll lead on cooking a simple vegetarian meal for everyone on site, plus be involved in the general day to day management of the charity.  But don't take my word for it, swing by for a coffee and a walk around to get a feel for things BEFORE you apply.  Based in a converted cow barn this is a MARMITE job, and we all know that people either love or don't love that spread.

It's a small team, only two other full time staff members working alongside you, but over 50 volunteers coming and going each week and over 30 adults with learning disabilities who spend half days or several days a week working at the project.  Each day starts with some "listening and prayer time" where people are encouraged to share and receive prayer if they request it.  Then some scripture is shared followed by remembering everything people are grateful for.  As Deputy Manager you would lead these sessions when the General Manager is on leave or be on a rota system.

The role is based on-site, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 4:30.

You get 20 days holiday a year plus Public Holidays to start with, plus additional days for long service.

Pay will be in the range of £28 to £30,000 p/a depending on experience.

Media & Communications Officer

Business Disability Forum is the leading business membership organisation in disability inclusion. We are looking for someone who already loves working in media relations, but who can also support broader communications activity. If you have a can-do attitude, the tenacity to pursue media coverage, and great attention to detail, we’d love to hear from you.

The majority of this role will focus on developing and delivering proactive and reactive print, online and broadcast media relations campaigns to promote the benefits of disability inclusion, our membership, products, services and policy work to businesses and policymakers. You would also plan and write content for multiple platforms.

You will have:

• Experience of media relations with a proven track record at officer level.
• Experience selling in stories to journalists with the motivation to keep going and follow up.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience writing content for a range of audiences and channels.

This new part-time role (4 days, Monday and Friday required), is based in our Communications and Marketing Team (6 people) and will work closely with our Media Consultant.

The Community Fundraising Officer will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community groups, schools and other organisations fundraising for Haven House Children’s Hospice. The Community Fundraising Officer will support groups, schools and organisations doing their own events and fundraising activities, work toward agreed income targets, and assist the two Managers in the team with planning and delivering key Haven House events and programmes.

This role will report to the Community & Events Manager and will be responsible for maximising income from across our community through providing an exceptional level of supporter care. The Community Fundraising Officer will work closely with our Database Manager to ensure accurate recording and reporting of income and supporter information.  This role will also manage a brilliant team of volunteer Community Champions who attend local events and speaking engagements on behalf of Haven House.

We are looking for someone to work on a variety of projects who is able to build strong relationships in our community and to take responsibility for the wide variety of relationships across our community.

The role

In this role you will have a caseload of disabled customers who need your advice and guidance. You will empower them to move into work.

Your base will be at our London Office, but you will be working within our extended employment team who deliver to our customers across England and Wales.

Although office based, we offer a hybrid model of delivery so working from home for part of your week is available.

Travel to meet with our customers or stakeholders and events across your local area is part of this role.

We are looking to recruit an experienced employment adviser to join our London team.

You will:

• Have experience of advising customers with their journey towards employment.
• Show that you are passionate about improving disabled people's lives through employment. 
• Be dynamic, results-focused, and comfortable working to Job start targets.
• Have a proven track record of achieving outcomes online and in face-to-face meetings.
• Have the confidence to deliver sessions to our customers on either a one-to-one basis or within groups.

We are looking for a Careers Adviser to join our Career Pathways team in Leeds. Career Pathways provides careers advice to disabled young people. It supports them in their transition from youth to adulthood.

Permanent, 35 hours per week.
