Volunteers are vital to our charity, the provide over 100,000 hours of support a year to our work. As our charity’s volunteer programme has grown over the last few years, we need to increase our capacity to recruit and better support our volunteers.
This role is focus on improving the support with give to our volunteers who care for our dogs and pups in training. There we are not just looking for someone who is experienced working with volunteers and is great with people, but someone who has presentation or teaching skills. So they can talk to groups of volunteers to help them develop the skills and confidence to have a positive experience and impact when volunteering with our charity. Candidate who have a good knowledge of dogs would be a real advantage.
Recruitment of new volunteers is also a key part of this role and so we will require the post holder to manage activity to achieve this, including some occasional weekend and evening work at specific recruitment events.
Volunteer Coordinator
Location: Birmingham
Place of work: CASBA’s brand new accessible offices in Selly Oak. With the agreement of your line manager, you will use the office, home, and other suitable places to work from while ensuring you appropriately meet and engage with clients and other relevant organisations.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 30 or 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. We are interested to hear from applicants who are looking for either part time or full-time work.
Salary: £22,916 per annum for 30 hours per week (with a full time equivalent of £28,129 for 37 hours)

The Volunteer Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and engaging our volunteers, ensuring their skills and enthusiasm contribute to our projects.
The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day management of volunteers at CASBA. You will be leading on recruitment, training, management, and support of volunteers, the implementation of volunteer policies, and working alongside the CEO to continually develop the strategy to ensure the volunteer services supports CASBA’s aims, objectives and values. This role is key to supporting CASBA’s new five-year strategy.
About the person
You will have:
• Previous experience of working with volunteers, especially volunteers with protected characteristics, is preferred.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt your communication depending on the needs of the audience.
• High degree of computer literacy, with experience of using databases and Microsoft Office packages.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people.
• Passionate about the mission and vision of CASBA.

Job description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated youth worker who has excellent planning skills, is great at communicating with different groups of people and the ability to support our members to lead.
Preferably the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate previous experience of leading on successful youth work projects, have experience of 121 and lone working, experience of managing relationships at varying levels, an understanding of disability awareness and working to budgets.
The post holder will be required to manage the day-to-day jobs of the Illumin8 project predominantly working with 18-30 year olds. This will include planning and running events, organising members to get to events including transport and adaptations needed and supporting members with 121 support. The candidate will also be responsible for supporting the rest of the team and other projects we run including Acceler8 and our Advocacy work.

Summary of the role
Your Voice is an NHS funded project that brings together a network of self-advocacy organisations across the South West The network aims to make sure that people with a learning disability and autistic people (Experts by Experience) have a voice when it comes to planning and delivering health services. We have set up a network of self-advocacy groups across the South West, bringing together people from different groups to have a really strong voice on health issues and other important matters. The team comprises of one Coordinator, three Experts by Experience with a learning disability or autism and one Marketing Coordinator.
Job Purpose: To coordinate the Your Voice project and work with the team to continue to build and develop a strong self-advocacy network across the South West of England. This will include managing three staff members with lived experience of learning disability or autism, and working with NHS England and Improvement to feedback key themes and to recommend and promote change.
Hours and pay:
Hours: 16 per week
Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2025.
Pension: IG operates the NEST pension scheme and will contribute 3% subject to qualifying status
Salary: £27,514 FTE, £14.11 per hour

Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Hate Crime Reporting Coordinator. As Hate Crimes are still under reported, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in increasing awareness of Hate Crime in Barnet and working on a multi-agency basis to coordinate community awareness raising events, ensuring residents, statutory and voluntary organisations, and others are informed about Hate Crime and know how to report it.
This role requires community engagement, delivering staff training workshops, monitoring and reporting hate crime data, and a commitment to a victim-centred approach.
The post is funded by MOPAC
Key Responsibilities:
· Engage with residents and diverse communities, including disabled people, LGBTQ+ groups, and Gypsy Roma Traveller groups to raise awareness about reporting hate crime.
· Coordinate communications and community events to raise awareness of Hate Crime and encourage reporting.
· Organise and conduct workshops and forums for diverse community groups.
· Train staff and volunteers to identify hate crime and support clients to report incidents to the Police.
· Monitor national and local hate crime data, including incidents recorded by Barnet Hate Crime Reporting Centres and produce quarterly reports of the work to tackle Hate crime in Barnet
· Support victims to report hate crimes and incidents to the Police and signpost to relevant support organisations.
· Support Barnet’s network of Hate Crime Reporting Centres including co-ordinated communications and staff training.
· Develop Barnet’s Safe Places Scheme for people with learning disabilities, autistic adults and adults-at-risk.

The Service
Our award-winning service supports young carers aged 4-19 to manage their caring relationships while also enjoying their childhoods. The Service provides specialist emotional support through a range of mediums, opportunities for young carers to develop their own peer support systems and a programme of leisure activities offering a break from caring responsibilities.
The Job
To co-ordinate and deliver a holistic service of support to all young carers, including those isolated and hard to reach, by designing and offering a programme of outreach through schools and local organisations. To line manage the Young Carers Support Worker and volunteers.
