Job Description

Are you experienced in delivering campaigns? Are you brilliant at building rapport, both with humans and dogs?

To support the Campaigns team in the North of England to develop and deliver high-profile local and national campaigns, and to project manage community events and activities which promote responsible dog ownership and improve dog welfare.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

The Dogs Trust Campaigns department works to establish responsible dog ownership in the UK. In so doing, the department is integral to the organisation's mission to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction.

The Campaigns team in the North of England is a team of six., and in this role you will support the Campaigns Manager on development and delivery of campaigns, projects and to lead on the management of community events. This includes working with Campaigns Officers and the Campaigns Veterinary Nurse, plus local partners, such as housing associations, local authorities and police forces, to organise and/or attend community events. At these events, you will discuss responsible dog ownership with owners and members of the public and promote our campaigns.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of working in a campaigning environment, as well of events and project management. You will be an excellent communicator, who is able to build long lasting relationships, and you will have a genuine interest in animal welfare, particularly dogs.
