The Employee Relations Advisor will be responsible for providing professional advice and legal support to colleagues in HR and to managers across Dogs Trust, including at our rehoming centres, London office and retail teams. By developing and maintaining an understanding of the issues relating to our plans, staff and their workplaces, the ER Advisor will provide business-focused, good practice advice on a wide range of employment law and employee relation issues.
In this role you will also identify and help to implement activities designed to ensure continued improvement in the business. With a professional background in employment law you will take the lead on complex and high level cases and issues requiring specialist legal input, providing specialist advice to the HR team, developing policies where required.
The successful candidate will be a qualified employment lawyer with some post qualification experience and a desire to work in-house with a busy HR department. You will have a good all round HR knowledge, with an excellent track record of resolving issues in a business-focused fashion.
You will be friendly and approachable, with good decision making skills and the ability to manage a complex and busy workload, and you will build excellent relationships with individuals across the charity to fully understand Dogs Trust, it's organisational culture and priorities.
