The Recruitment Officer is responsible for delivering excellent practice in all aspects of Dogs Trust recruitment.
Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 9,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.
The successful candidate will work closely with hiring managers across the charity to agree and implement recruitment plans, ensuring processes run smoothly and that successful hires are made. In addition you will draft job descriptions and adverts, will develop and implement effective interview and assessment tools, place cost-effective adverts, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed in a timely manner. You will help to monitor recruitment activity and will act as systems specialist for the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), providing reports as required.
To be successful in this position, you will have a proven track record of achievement in recruitment, ideally in an in-house setting, consistently giving sound professional advice. You will have up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and you will be a proactive and enthusiastic team player.
You need to be conscientious, very well organised, flexible, friendly and discreet with a genuine interest in and commitment to Dogs Trust’s ethos and aims. In this post there may be a requirement for travel throughout the UK.
