Job description

We are looking for two highly organised and creative Special Events Officers to plan, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of both virtual and face to face events targeted specifically at major donor, corporate partner and VIP/influencer audiences.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

We are reliant on voluntary donations to continue our work. Dogs Trust is fortunate to receive some large donations from charitable trusts/foundations, corporate partners and wealthy individuals and we believe there is potential to increase funds from these sources significantly to expand our work even further.

The Special Events Officer works alongside the Corporate Development, Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Teams to support with the identification, cultivation and stewardship of prospects through delivery of an annual events programme ranging from intimate dinners and patron receptions through to larger garden parties, gala events and concerts. You will be joining the team at a particularly exciting time as we plan our 2022 public art trail – A Dog’s Trail with Snoopy, and the opening of our newest Rehoming Centre in Cardiff.

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience of coordinating medium to large events and logistics, with excellent attention to detail and a methodical and organised approach to your work. You will have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of people at all levels, and you’ll be proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team or project group.
