Here at Doorstep Library we believe in the power of words to take you places. We are a non-profit community-focused charity dedicated to bringing the gift of books and the joy of reading into the homes of families across London who need our support, reading with them and their children to inspire a love of books, of stories and storytelling, and to instil a lifelong passion for reading.
As part of our expansion work this year we have now launched our new Online Reading Corner, a virtual reading service, and are in the process of setting up new home reading projects on the ground. We have also launched a brand new website, which features a new member’s area for Volunteers. To enable us to meet the needs of more families we need to recruit new volunteers for both our online and our home reading volunteer services.
At this exciting time for the charity we are looking for a Volunteer Engagement Manager to report to the Head of Marketing and Communications. This full-time role will have ultimate strategic responsibility for the recruitment and management of volunteers for both our online and home reading programmes, ensuring that volunteers are successfully trained, motivated, supported and that retention is high.
