About Bendrigg
We make adventure accessible, working together to overcome barriers and transform lives.
The spirit of adventure is incredible. A bona fide superpower that can fill any one of us with conviction and confidence, with new abilities and renewed agency. And it’s universal too – not the exclusive preserve of the advantaged and non-disabled. It’s for everyone, because we’re making sure it is.
At Bendrigg, we have the setting and the scenery, the equipment and the expertise, the people and the passion. Together we have a limitless supply of adventure. With a limitless determination to improve people’s lives.
Because we know that, whatever adventure means to each individual, it has the power to empower. To challenge and inspire, to tear down barriers and build up possibilities, to create real and lasting change. Above all, it has the power to change minds – within those individuals and across our whole society: changing the way people see their world, and changing the way the world sees them.
At Bendrigg we create change, one adventure at a time.
The role: Fundraising Manager
We are seeking a Fundraising Manager with a passion for our mission, who will build positive relationships to secure significant income, working together to harness the power of adventure to create lasting change and transform communities for all.

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the successful candidate will oversee all fundraising income generation activity and lead on our Major Donor Giving Programme. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned fundraiser to join and lead a forward-thinking and inclusive team and develop Bendrigg’s fundraising to support our new Strategic Plan. This opportunity is open to those wishing to work remotely (there would be an expectation to attend the office for a minimum of 2 weeks during the induction process, and thereafter at least 3 days per month throughout the year), looking for a hybrid working pattern or wanting to be fully office-based. The role is full time, however part-time on a minimum of 0.8FTE would be considered for the ideal candidate.
We welcome and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, irrespective of gender, disability, colour, race, nationality, ethnic or national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, religion, or criminal records.

The Orchard Project is recruiting a Head of Fundraising to develop and implement their income strategy as they enter an exciting period of growth and continue their mission to unite, empower and educate by bringing orchards into the heart of urban communities.
Closing date: 9 a.m. Monday 13th May
Who we are.
The Orchard Project brings orchards into the heart of urban communities, along with the many benefits they provide: environmental, physical, mental, social, and educational. They are the only national charity dedicated to the creation, restoration and celebration of community orchards.
For many hundreds of years, orchards were a key part of communities across the UK. But sadly, due to urban development, many of these green spaces, which are hubs of biodiversity, have disappeared. The Orchard Project’s mission is to reverse this decline and ensure everyone in cities across the UK is within easy reach of a thriving community orchard.
They also provide accredited horticultural courses and training with a view to increasing employment and representation amongst marginalised communities and host events and activities centred around orchards to improve community cohesion.
The fruit produced by orchards is used by local communities and shared throughout cities by teaming up with foodbank charities and advocating nationwide for the benefits of community orchards.
The Orchard Project is a national charity working across the country with bases in London, Manchester, Bristol, Swansea, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
About the role.
As Head of Fundraising and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll work closely with the CEO to devise the organisation’s fundraising strategy as they enter a positive and ambitious new five-year plan.

Using creativity, you will secure multiyear unrestricted six-figure grants from an array of grantmakers as you continue the diversification of this income stream.
The charity is continuing the expansion of its fundraising strategy to incorporate new income streams, a project you’ll spearhead with the launch of digital fundraising. You’ll target individual givers to open up new revenue sources through digital sources as you tap into the goodwill for the charity and its work across the nation.
Who we are looking for.
We are seeking an experienced fundraiser and emotionally intelligent manager with expertise in imaginative bid-writing for significant multiyear grants. A combined strategic and operational outlook will be crucial to this role and the success of fundraising.
You will be process-driven but creative with a desire to try new things and collaborate with colleagues to create new and exciting projects to attract funders and expand the charity’s impact.
Suitable candidates will be passionate about the environment and uplifting marginalised communities, with a willingness to influence and shape the charity for years to come.

Following an investment of 1.5 million we have the opportunity to build on the quality and reach of our community services.
We’re looking for someone with experience of both campaigning, including an understanding of the basic tools and techniques used in campaigning, and of working with volunteers and services users, including how best to support them to achieve their campaigning goals.
About the role
You’ll lead and coordinate our local campaigning work across Wales. Your work will help the charity improve the lives of people in local communities affected by Parkinson’s. You’ll listen to the needs of our local communities and work with volunteers and colleagues in the wider Wales team to do focussed campaigning and advocacy work.
Through co-production you’ll ensure that the voices of people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers are heard by decision makers.
What you’ll do:

Support the development and delivery of campaigns activity for Wales and proactively identify opportunities for public-facing campaigns.
-
Recruit and manage a sustainable community of campaign volunteers.
-
Use our national campaign priorities to deliver related local campaign activity.

Organise and deliver training events for people with lived experience who wish to engage as well as campaign volunteers.
-
Create content for public facing elements of campaigns, including supporter actions, web pages, newsletter and social media.
What you’ll bring:
-
Ability to network and build supportive relationships with volunteers, MSs/MPs and health bodies.
-
Ability to work independently, coproductively and as a part of a team.
-
Experience in organising events.
-
Experience of delivering training to a variety of audiences
-
Excellent written and oral communication and client care skills, including a confident phone manner and an ability to produce inspiring content to motivate volunteers and staff.
This is an exciting time for Parkinson’s UK and we would love you to join us!
Please apply by sending us your CV, together with a detailed supporting statement which will fully demonstrate how you meet all the criteria of the role, as stated in the "What you'll bring" section of the job description.
