We are looking for a positive and dynamic Volunteer Coordinator who will develop, oversee and enhance our peer support provision in addition to coordinating and promoting volunteering opportunities, including recruiting and motivating volunteers to get involved in a range of exciting opportunities across our organisation. This role will provide training and supervision to volunteers in a variety of roles across the organisation. In addition to policy development, compliance with safeguarding policies including safer recruitment. AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.
Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

AAFDA have been awarded the Home Office contract to deliver accredited Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) Chair training and are looking for an experienced individual to coordinate the delivery of these sessions as well as providing some support to the training team.

Purpose of the roles:
- To be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of Neighbourhood Watch’s partner project involving Neighbourhood Watch volunteers within one of the regional areas.
- Delivering training to volunteers so they can deliver information sessions to community groups.
- Organising community events where information sessions are delivered by volunteers.
- Ensuring information sessions are delivered to the highest and consistent standards, and that feedback requests are acted upon swiftly.
Hours of employment are:
- South East of England 0.6 FTE (21 hours per week)
- South West of England 0.8FTE (28 hours per week)
- Wales 0.8FTE (28 hours per week)
All on a 12 month fixed term contract. Core hours are 10am-12pm and 2-4pm with an unpaid lunch break.

About the role:
This role is home-based with expected travel throughout Wiltshire and Swindon. Hence, holding a driving licence is essential.
As an adult caseworker you will:
- Ensure the delivery of excellent services to victims of crime through the direct provision of information and practical and emotional help from the point of crime, and onwards throughout the criminal justice process, where appropriate
- Ensure that the overall aim of helping people cope and recover from the effects of crime is achieved
- Act as a single point of contact, to undertake effective need and risk assessments of victims and their circumstances
- Coordinate the overall delivery of the cope and recovery plan and recovery journey, working closely with other service providers to meet the needs of victims to enable them to cope and recover from the impact of crime
You will need:
- Experience of delivering a service and working directly with service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting
- Experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or families
- Understanding and knowledge of an active commitment to promoting equal opportunities, inclusion and diversity
- Ability to work without direct supervision, prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/ needs and interests in an organised and methodical manner

Position: Fundraiser
Paid (OTE - uncapped) (securing funding via grant writing)
This role reports to: The CEO
Responsibilities:
- Lead research for grant opportunities from government and non-government bodies.
- Lead and project manage tenders and funding bids including bid writing and budget development on a timely basis.
- Independently manage bid submissions to deadlines, ensuring delivery of high quality tender/proposal responses.
- Create an annual grants and legacy plan for Rebuilding Lives UK.
- Prepare information about grants, trusts and foundations, advising the CEO and Trustees of the requirements of the applications, the deadlines being worked towards and the final outcomes.
- Co-ordinate fundraising events for legacy and donor programmes.
- Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
- Write and tailor content for grant applications; this includes contributing to a fundraising strategy.
- Take responsibility for writing proposals in detail, the work the charity does and how the charity uses grant money.
- Develop relationships with funders by expanding your network.
- Identifying funding sources.
- Share ideas for fundraising.
- Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.

About the Role:
As a Group Work Practitioner, you will be delivering a range of group work courses and programmes to adults affected by crime in the Thames Valley. You will be required to manage your own caseload and work in collaboration with other service delivery staff within the Thames Valley Adult Victims Service.
We are seeking a number of Group Work Practitioners to join the service.
Funded by the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley, the Adult Victims Service will provide emotional and practical support to adult victims of any crime. Support will primarily be delivered through specialist group work provision, alongside online and telephone support.
You will be confident in co facilitating the delivery of group work programmes to people with a range of different needs and will have strong empathy skills. You will need to be able to talk to groups of people and will be resilient and confident with supporting others, as well as happy to work as part of a team.
You will need to have the ability to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/ needs and interests in an organised and methodical manner. Have an understanding and knowledge of, and an active commitment to promoting equal opportunities and diversity. About the Role:
As Victim Awareness Officer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering training and awareness raising activities in relation to victims of crime. The role will work closely and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley, Thames Valley Police, criminal justice agencies as well as other statutory agencies and third sector organisations across the Thames Valley.
You will lead on developing this new content for training as well as consulting with stakeholders on their training needs and mapping emerging areas where further input is required. As part of the role, you will be responsible for developing this range of training programmes and keeping training materials up to date. You will maximise the use of social media accounts for training, victim awareness and awareness of specific crime types including Sexual Violence and Modern Day Slavery. You will attend events and presentations to engage the local community and increase their knowledge on support for victims of crime. To assist delivery of your role you will recruit and support a cohort of trained volunteers to perform the roles of Criminal Justice Champions and Engagement Champions volunteers.
You will need to be able to work flexibly to accommodate the training requirements as well as experience of delivering presentations and structured training programmes and talks to a range of audiences. You will need to be IT literate and be effective with your communication.
