Job description

East Cheshire Hospice is a recognised and highly regarded charity based in Macclesfield and our mission “is to provide the highest quality of care and support to the people we serve”. We are very fortunate to be supported by a strong team of staff and volunteers who dedicate their time, skills and professional knowledge to assist us in making this possible.

The Hospice is now seeking to appoint a Major Donor Fundraiser to assist with the stewardship and management of key relationships with our high net worth supporters. We are looking for someone who can communicate the true value of the hospice to a range of potential major donors, corporate associates and influential people.

The post holder will be responsible for creating their own pipeline of high net worth contacts and developing plans to reach out to them and engage them with the Hospice’s work. Professional and personal connections in the local area would be advantageous.

The postholder will have the support of a highly motivated Board of Trustees who understand the investment needed to grow income. The role also sits within a team of successful fundraisers, employed in traditional fundraising activities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly to a range of audiences at all levels, in a clear, inspiring and confident way.
  • A highly developed ability to negotiate successfully with colleagues at all levels and with external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Experience of building and managing effective relationships with high level individuals and/or organisations and securing major gifts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, identifying conflicting demands and establishing clear priorities in order to meet agreed objectives and income.

All applicants are required to undergo a DBS check, paid for and arranged by the Hospice.  East Cheshire Hospice is committed to diversity across its workforce.
