Job description

Head of Finance 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller / Head of Finance to lead the ongoing development of the Charity’s financial and legal matters in conjunction with the Executive Director Finance and Operations. A member of the Charity’s leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and developing five direct reports. This post will play a key and proactive role in ensuring that financial operations, reporting and business partnering, controls, contracts support, and procurement are run efficiently and effectively and aligned to the ambitious plans to grow the Charity.

Head of Finance Requirements:

The successful applicant must be CCAB qualified with experience of VAT, tax and payroll as well as good commercial knowledge. Ideally you will also have knowledge of charity accounting (SORP 2015) and gift-aid and be educated to degree standard.

You will need to have experience of managing and developing teams and hands on experience of operational finance including cash / treasury management. You will also have experience of developing meaningful information reporting and analysis, management of the budgeting / forecasting process and show experience in statutory reporting and financial controls. Ideally you will also have hands on experience of reviewing and producing contracts and legal documents.

With a high level of technical financial skills and excellent IT skills, you should be an inspiring and supportive leader who is customer focussed and an excellent communicator. In addition, you will be pro-active and assertive and enjoy working in a hands-on, open and collaborative environment.

Job type: Full Time, Permanent, Flexible working considered, 30 - 37.5 hours per week over four or five days

Salary: Grade 2 £46,000 - £52,000 FTE depending on experience
