Position: Head of Volunteering and Community Development
Job Type: Fixed term maternity cover until June 2019
Hours: Full time, 35 per week
Salary: circa £38,000 per annum

About the role:
They are looking for a motivated and innovative individual to join their Support Directorate in this role.
They have made considerable progress in developing their peer support over the last two years and this is a great opportunity for someone with the right skills and experience to help them to take the next step forward in development of their volunteering, voluntary groups and clubs network and community engagement across the UK.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Stroke Support, the UK Head of Volunteering and Community Development will be the strategic lead for their community engagement programmes. They will ensure consistently high standards of quality leadership and direction for volunteers and staff responsible for organisational community based activities.
The UK Head of Volunteering and Community Development will have a proven track record in a senior management role within a charity and significant experience in strategic development in the field of volunteering and community development. Excellent communication skills and project management experience are also essential for this role. You will also have experience of networking at a national and local level and subsequently building professional working relationships.
Frequent UK travel is expected as part of the role.
