Prospect Research Manager
We are seeking an accomplished and committed person to join us in the role of Prospect Research Manager.
Based in the University of Oxford’s Development and Alumni Engagement department, the Prospect Research Team drives the ambitious fundraising activities of the University. It does this in a number of ways, and the major focus of this role is on the team’s work in carrying out due diligence research as part of the University’s donations acceptance process.
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Prospect Research and working alongside two other Prospect Research Managers in a wider team, the postholder will play a key role in overseeing our crucial work in this area. The role also offers the opportunity of line management responsibilities.

About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and versatile finance professional to play a leading strategic role in the continuing development of our North London schools.
The Regional Finance Director will provide the overall leadership and management for all aspects of finance to Ark Schools in the North London region. Ofqual is the independent qualifications regulator for England. We currently regulate 200+ awarding organisations, and approx. 11,600 certified qualifications. - Lead and manage the budget and reforecast setting and monitoring processes and the generation of the medium and long-term financial plan within the planning cycle, ensuring that it delivers financial targets and incorporates all activities the organisation is, or is planning to be, involved in

The successful candidate will have:
- A full CCAB or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of two years’ experience of budget setting, forecasting and financial reporting within an organisation of similar or greater complexity and size to that of Ofqual.

Main Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will include:
- The preparation of monthly management accounts for the Federation head office departments
- Preparing and monitoring head office budgets, ensuring no overspends
- Providing financial advice to budget holders preparing funding bids and business cases
- Head Office accounting, including month end reviews
- Meeting regularly with budget holders to assist in their budget management and stay up to date with activities
- Preparing year end papers and supporting schedules for head office activities
- Liaising with the Internal Audit team and External auditors
- Assisting with various ESFA/DFR submissions and audits
- Reconciliation and review of monthly inter-academy recharges
- Assisting the Financial Controller with treasury management, manage cash flow, funding and capital expenditure
- Monitoring the receipt and spend of donations across the Federation
- Review of monthly journals (e.g. prepayments, deferred income, academy recharges)
- Identifying and evaluating opportunities for improving value for money
What We are Looking For
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- CCAB qualification
- Recent and relevant continued professional development
- Proven experience of preparing monthly budgets and providing meaningful commentary on management account variances
- Finance experience and commercial skills encompassing budgeting and planning, stakeholder management, strong financial and management information analysis skills and the ability to disseminate timely, accurate and relevant reports to key stakeholders
- Proven experience in preparing month end journals, including departmental recharges
- Experience of involvement in year end preparation for the audit of statutory accounts
- Strong Excel skills and experience of using a variety of software packages to generate reports
- Prior experience of Oracle Fusion

For a progressive, forward-thinking university in southeast London, we are recruiting a Deputy Financial Controller. This is a new role, reporting to the Financial Controller, which will lead a high-performing team of 4, and manage the statutory returns, external financial audits, financial reporting, and the balance sheet. The Deputy Financial Controller will produce high-quality financial, management, and regulatory reports, and insightful financial control analysis and information essential for strategic decision-making. This role will lead the ownership for the Oracle ERP platform and will deputise for the Financial Controller as needed.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the timely and accurate production of year-end financial statements
- Own the relationship with the external auditors and be responsible for continuous audit process improvements
- Lead on taxation compliance, and lead on policy updates to Finance Regulations
- Lead on cashflow forecasting and treasury management
- Ensure effective financial controls are in place
- Lead on optimisation, and best practice of the Oracle ERP platform, championing system compliance across the Finance team and wider organisation

Diversifying income - including growing philanthropic income - is integral to UCL's financial strategy. Working closely with the Advancement team, this job is based in the central Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, reporting to the Head of Financial Strategy.
About the role
This new job has been created at a pivotal time for UCL as we prepare for the launch of our biggest institutional fundraising and engagement campaign to date.
As the Head of Finance (Philanthropy and Endowments), you will play a key role in setting the foundations for the campaign, representing a career defining opportunity for the right candidate.
In this job you will:
* Lead financial planning for philanthropy, to shape and plan how we generate and account for philanthropic income
* Implement regular delivery of consistent management information
* Develop financial policies and recommendations in relation to philanthropy
* Provide expertise and insight on the spend of endowed funds, making sure philanthropic funds are as impactful a possible
* Ensure alignment between Advancement's ambitions and UCL's wider financial strategy
* Work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in Finance and Advancement This role will be truly cross cutting, working with Senior Leadership across UCL, to support the growth of philanthropy as an increasingly important income stream to UCL

About you
For this role, we are looking for a fully qualified accountant with significant financial planning and policy experience. Ideally you will have experience from within the fundraising sector, but you'll certainly have worked within a large not-for-profit organisation (charity, Higher Education, Government etc.)
You must have a track record of providing strategic financial partnership to senior leaders, and experience delivering financial analysis and reporting to non-finance staff. You must be able to demonstrate experience developing and implementing financial policy.
Experience working in the HE sector is desirable, but training and induction will be available for the right candidate looking to move into this sector.
