Unpaid role
Voluntary, 1 day per month roughly
Job description

EduSpots (a Ghana and UK registered charity) connects, trains and equips local volunteers to drive sustainable community-led change through education centres named Spots.

Since 2016, through working with over 300 local volunteers, we have supported nearly 50 communities in creating community-led education centres or ‘Spots’.  Our Ghanaian team creates collaborative learning spaces through our Community Leadership in Development Programme alongside leading regular STEM and literacy challenges through our locally-driven club model.

We won the Tes International Award in 2018 for the best UK international education project and in 2021 our Founder was a Finalist in The Varkey Foundation’s Global Teacher Prize, supported by UNESCO.

Who are we looking for?

EduSpots is at a pivotal moment in its development as an organisation; we are looking to continue to bring the right people on board to strengthen and scale the impact of our work in championing wider sustainable community-led education.

We are looking for an individual with extensive experience of education in an international context, to work with our Chair and wider network to develop our model of sustainable community-led education. EduSpots is keen to champion forms of education that are led by the community and co-designed by local people to meet their needs and cultural context.

We are increasingly a hands-on board, and whilst we only formally meet four times a year, we are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person who is able to offer up to one day per month to support the Charity and its work.  The role is remote, however we would ideally love for someone to be within reasonable travel distance of Sevenoaks where a number of our current team are located - this is desirable but not essential and we do have volunteers positioned in international locations.

If you are motivated by our ethos, committed to bringing about positive change, and have the skills and experience we need, we would love to hear from you. Please do look through the role description ahead of applying.
