Farringdon, Greater London
£40,000 - £45,000 per year
Contract, Two years fixed term with potential to move to a permanent contract, Full-time
Job description

We are readvertising this job. If you have already applied, you do not need to apply again.

TERMS: Full time. Two years fixed term with potential to move to a permanent contract
LOCATION: London, Cardiff, or remote within UK. (Currently all our staff are working at home and can attend offices on an optional basis. This situation is likely to continue until at least January 2022).

We are seeking an experienced Fundraising, Business Development and Donor Relations specialist, within the charity sector, to help us grow and diversify Elrha’s donor base and funding portfolio. Working closely with staff across the organisation, you will establish and implement our new resource mobilisation strategy. This is a great opportunity to create a lasting impact in the organisation by setting the foundations for a strong and effective business development and fundraising function.

This new role in Elrha will drive fundraising efforts and partnership development across all Elrha’s programmes and thematic areas, by leading and providing effective support to the programme teams throughout the funding cycle. This will range from cultivating existing relationships and transforming them into funding opportunities, mapping and landscaping donor funding streams, to coordinating high quality proposals in response to these opportunities. The role will also create and maintain Elrha’s business development procedures, tools and information systems. As a key element in leading the business development function in Elrha, the role is also responsible for setting up, disseminating and monitoring the organisational business development strategy, aimed at expanding the current £69.5 million active portfolio.

The profile of a successful candidate is a fundraising and business development manager with proven experience in the humanitarian / international development sector, working with a diverse range of donors and upstream partners (governments, multi-lateral institutions, trust & foundations, corporates), which has resulted in excellent understanding of their strategies and funding models, as well as strong knowledge on how to lead and steward relationships and strategic engagement with them. A strong track record in proposal development and management is also an essential success factor for this role, as is experience in developing fundraising strategies and targets, and delivering against them.

In addition, you will also have proven skills and abilities in:

  • working independently and proactively to delivering solutions and results.
  • multitasking, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines and targets.
  • providing effective support and collaborating with staff across teams and functions, with staff working in different locations
  • effectively managing a variety of relationships, showing strong inter-personal and influencing skills.

Covid-19 restrictions permitting, Elrha’s staff are usually based at our offices in London and Cardiff. While the preference is for the Fundraising and Business Development Lead to be able to work in one of these locations, remote working may be possible for the right candidate.

Elrha is a global charity that finds solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. We fund and support projects that go on to shape the way in which people across the world are supported during a crisis. We are based in the UK, but our roles have a global reach. We’re an established and respected part of the humanitarian community, working closely and meaningfully with our fellow networks and actors to make change happen. Elrha is a wholly owned subsidiary of Save the Children.

Please note that you will be expected, as part of the recruitment process, to provide documentation that demonstrates your right to work in the UK for the duration of the contract.

We look forward to hearing from you.
