Are you an experienced and dynamic leader with a track record of delivering high impact policy campaigns in the humanitarian sector? Can you communicate with impact and develop influential strategies to drive change in a complex system? Are you able to support a highly motivated and skilled communications team to deliver strategic communications in support of policy goals?
We are looking to recruit a Director of Policy Engagement and Communications to join our Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This exciting new role will bring direction and vision to our work on humanitarian research and innovation policy, building on our reputation as a global leader and change-maker in the humanitarian system. We are looking for an exceptional individual to work closely with our SLT to develop strong policy positions and campaigns using evidence from our programmes to drive global action on the creation of an effective, responsible and sustainable system for humanitarian research and innovation.
Elrha is a global charity that finds solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. We work to improve outcomes for people affected by crises by ensuring that humanitarian response is based on evidence of what works, so people get the right support when they need it most. We fund and champion robust research and proven innovations around the world, working in partnership with humanitarian organisations, the international research community, the private sector and other actors engaged in these areas. We have recently secured major new funding to expand our work and our global reach.
To be successful you will have significant experience in similar leadership roles, or be ready to take that next step, with a proven track record of driving influential policy and strategic communication campaigns. You will be knowledgeable of the key stakeholders within the humanitarian system, with an up-to-date understanding of the current drivers of change within it, along with a solid understanding of humanitarian research and innovation. Motivated by our vision and Guiding Principles you will combine long term vision with an eye for detail, developing talent and inspiring confidence in colleagues and stakeholders alike. You will be flexible and hands-on, and will have exceptional interpersonal skills.
