LOCATION: London, Cardiff, or remote within UK.

Elrha is a global charity that finds solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. We are seeking a new Head of Programmes for our globally recognised Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF).

This is a great opportunity for a strategic thinker with considerable programme management experience to make a significant contribution within the humanitarian innovation ecosystem.

Your role will be to ensure the HIF is at the forefront of humanitarian innovation and provide high quality grants and innovation management support to HIF grantees. Furthermore, you will be responsible for donor liaison and working to secure funding for future crucial innovations through effective engagement and thought leadership.

Working as an active participant of Elrha’s Senior Management Team, you will lead a team of innovation specialists to deliver the HIF’s strategic approach within the Elrha strategy and the HIF’s operational plan. This requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to maintain and develop strong relationships with stakeholders within the humanitarian community

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience of programme management within an NGO or similar including overseeing program implementation, monitoring and evaluation and maintaining positive relationships with partner organisations and external agencies.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and strategically to deliver successful programme results
  • An excellent knowledge of the international humanitarian system and current practices and challenges in operational humanitarian programmes

Remote Working

Salaries and benefits

Jobs are positioned within the salary structure on the basis of evaluation. New employees would normally be appointed at the bottom of the grade, however the appointed salary may also take into account the relevant experience a candidate brings to a role. Elrha is committed to paying staff in a fair and equitable way and will benchmark all salary offers in line with the pay of existing staff.

Elrha also has a comprehensive benefits package including 25 days holiday entitlement which increases year on year, 5% employer pension contribution (3% employee contribution) and life cover.
