Maternity Cover – Administration Assistant

Emmaus is a fantastic organisation, helping people who have experienced homelessness to re-gain lost self-esteem by providing them with a stable home and meaningful work in one of our social enterprises, which are predominantly charity retail based. This role is with Emmaus UK, the federation office which provides support, guidance, training and central services to the Emmaus groups in the UK. The post is based in Birmingham although at the moment the Emmaus UK team are working from home and this is the plan for the foreseeable future. We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our team supporting our central staff and the 34 groups across the UK.

The role is a fixed term contract as maternity cover and is based within the administration team, answering the phone, responding to emails and managing the administrative functions as well as coordinating important meetings, working closely with the senior management team and Board of trustees and supporting the wider Emmaus UK team to deliver their activities.

This is a core role that underpins the organisation so we are looking for someone who is experienced, proactive and able to deal with multiple conflicting deadlines. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic and engaged, organised and professional, with a high attention to detail. We are looking for someone who enjoys working within a small but passionate team and thrives using their skills to enable others. Anyone applying for this role should be able to clearly explain how their previous experience demonstrates these qualities.
