Job description

Enthum Foundation, a UK registered charity, is looking for a brilliant, experienced and motivated Night Support Worker to join its dedicated team at Enthum House, a 16+ supported residence for unaccompanied asylum seeking children, to help deliver a first-class service to young people with complex and diverse needs, from a variety of backgrounds.

This position requires being a proactive, resilient and flexible team worker with excellent communication skills and a great capacity to complete written records and paper work on time. Lone working and weekend shifts, as part of a rota schedule and the ability to safeguard and inspire young people is essential.

Experience of working with asylum seeking children or refugees, as well as coming from a trauma-informed therapeutic background, is ideal but not a necessity.

The post holder will demonstrate integrity and a strong philosophy of care including understanding attachment disorders.

We are looking for an inspired and committed new team member, who can take on the initiative and help ensure that Enthum House continues to achieve its mission, vision and values.

The Enthum Foundation offers 28 days annual leave pro rata, ongoing training opportunities and a 24 hour independent Employee Assistance Service.

Purpose of role

To provide support, checks and safeguarding at night for unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people aged 16+ living in Enthum House, taking an active role in creating and being part of a responsive and dedicated residential staff team and environment that promotes positive attachments and relationships.

Assisting young people to build on their emotional resilience and develop mental, physical and social well-being and life skills for independent living, supporting each young person with the opportunity to reach their individual potential.

To be proactive in enabling young people to recognise risks and develop strategies for keeping themselves safe within their communities and UK society, especially at night.

To actively participate in monitoring and evaluation processes, ensuring that handover forms and reports are accurately maintained.

This job role will operate on a shift basis and will include lone and weekend working.

To achieve the highest standard of service delivery and represent the Enthum Foundation in a positive and professional light with all current and potential clients, stakeholders and partners.
