Specialist Support Workers within Look Ahead are required to have either an extra dimension of experience or a higher qualification level as determined relevant for the particular post. Specialist Support Workers provide information, social inclusion and vocational opportunities to support people to recover and stay well; exercise choice and control in their care and lives; and participate on an equal footing in the community. Support is also provided to develop a model of re-enablement towards self-advocacy, self-management and empowerment, incorporating the principles and practice of recovery, co-production and peer support.

This is a full-time (Monday - Friday working 9am - 5pm) position and with opportunities for hybrid working with some time each week in our office in central Devizes. The Position:

You will be joining our small, passionate NGO to coordinator our digital presence. Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Hate Crime Reporting Coordinator. As Hate Crimes are still under reported, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in increasing awareness of Hate Crime in Barnet and working on a multi-agency basis to coordinate community awareness raising events, ensuring residents, statutory and voluntary organisations, and others are informed about Hate Crime and know how to report it.

This role requires community engagement, delivering staff training workshops, monitoring and reporting hate crime data, and a commitment to a victim-centred approach.

The post is funded by MOPAC

Key Responsibilities:

· Engage with residents and diverse communities, including disabled people, LGBTQ+ groups, and Gypsy Roma Traveller groups to raise awareness about reporting hate crime.

· Coordinate communications and community events to raise awareness of Hate Crime and encourage reporting.

· Organise and conduct workshops and forums for diverse community groups.

· Train staff and volunteers to identify hate crime and support clients to report incidents to the Police.

· Monitor national and local hate crime data, including incidents recorded by Barnet Hate Crime Reporting Centres and produce quarterly reports of the work to tackle Hate crime in Barnet

· Support victims to report hate crimes and incidents to the Police and signpost to relevant support organisations.

· Support Barnet’s network of Hate Crime Reporting Centres including co-ordinated communications and staff training.

Horn Lane service, is for young children / adult between the ages of 16 and 21, we are Ofsted registered.
We a re a dynamic and caring team

We are based in Acton, West London, 2 minute walk from Acton Main Line, with the Elizabeth line and 10 minutes walk from Central Acton central line.
We are a 24/7 service, and operate a 4 week rolling program which includes early shifts 8-4, late shifts 2-10 and weekend work, no sleep ins.

Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. Job Title: School Partnership Officer

Reports to: Programme Director

Salary: £23,400 full time equivalent (FTE)

Contract: Permanent, Full time or part-time considered, minimum of 30 hrs per week. 

Learning with Parents also operates a flexible working policy to support parents and other staff with caring responsibilities.

Location: Hybrid (Mondays and Tuesdays at our office in Bristol, other days remote)

About Us

Learning with Parents supports all families to have positive learning interactions together and leads the sector to learn what works in tackling inequality.

In partnership with 150 primary schools, we support families across the UK to enjoy learning together at home. Our child-led videos and hands-on family activities replace traditional homework. Through behavioural insight research, innovative technology and teacher training, we ensure that as many families as possible are supported effectively.

We are working to improve parental engagement across the sector, by producing evidence of parents’ impact and generating insights into how schools can best support them. Learnings are disseminated through the Parental Engagement Forum and amplified through the Fair Education Alliance.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit a School Partnership Officer to help us grow and extend the reach of our Learning with Parents programme. 

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience across project management at a fast-paced education-tech charity. We are a small team, and the School Partnership Coordinator will play a key role in enabling us to deliver our programme strategy.

Core areas of responsibility

Programme support

• Assist the School Partnership Managers with support for the schools using our Reading Log, including having calls with those schools
• Collaborate with the Schools Team to help schools get started on the programme 
• Send reminders to schools on their next actions
• Update the schools database and organisations database with the relevant programme information
• Support the Schools Team to deliver timely tech support for both schools and parents using our programmes
• Support with pulling together school impact summaries
• Support with the invoicing and contracts for school partners, including supporting the Schools Team with ensuring school invoices are paid
• Support with any programme admin as directed by the school team. 

External communications

• Manage the general inbox for the charity
• Sort parent feedback comments and photos for marketing materials and impact summaries 
• Support with creating marketing materials such as emails and and flyers
• Update the charity social media accounts including our X, LinkedIn and Facebook pages.

General administrative support

• Other administrative support as required by the wider organisation, such as office procurement, general research, organising events and booking travel.

About You

A successful School Partnership Officer will be eager to work in a small team, have a can-do attitude, and be keen to get stuck in to support the charity’s growth and impact. 

Our ideal candidate would also be able to provide examples of when they have used the following skills and experience: 

• Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively
• Good attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to work well as a team and with a range of different stakeholders
• A desire to champion and uphold our organisation’s vision, mission and values.
