Role Summary
This role will support the expanding Fundraising & Engagement team with all fundraising activities to ensure that good relationships are maintained with all Alcohol Change UK (ACUK) supporters. The Fundraising and Engagement Assistant will undertake the financial administration and recording of all fundraising income as well as being the first point of contact for the team ensuring ACUK delivers high levels of supporter care.

Location: Kings Cross, London, WC1X 9NW (minimum of 3 days per week in office)
Status, hours: Permenant
Salary: Grade E: salary in the range £24,551 to £27,586 (depending on skills, knowledge and experience) plus benefits
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Fundraising
-
Coordinating ACUK’s CRM system (ThankQ) and ensuring data accuracy including:
- New donor details, communications with supporters, gift aid and consent purposes
- Championing data cleansing and monthly de-duping of contacts

Coordinating all general fundraising enquiries including phone calls, fundraising & engagement email inboxes (providing holiday cover for the training & consultancy inbox) and post.

Coordinating lead generation from third party challenge event companies and converting leads into participants

Coordinating fundraising resources and merchandise including;
- Sending out materials to supporters
- Compiling fulfilment reports from online shop and sending over to fulfilment agency
- Monitoring stock levels of fundraising materials and shop merchandise

Maintaining up to date filing systems

Supporting with research for Trusts & Foundation applications

Processing all physical (cash and cheques) and online donations received in accordance with ACUK’s cash handling procedures, including;
- Counting and processing cheques/cash
- Logging all donations on a central post sheet
- Processing and reporting on all donations received through the ACUK website and all third-party platforms
- Ensuring all donors are thanked in a timely manner in line with their communication preferences
- Importing all donation data to ThankQ
Engagement programme

Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from our volunteers (Community Champions) and, alongside the Fundraising & Engagement Manager, steward our volunteers including the coordination of volunteer activities.

Identify opportunities for supporters of different types to discover new ways to engage with them (for example helping donors become campaigners or encouraging cultural change activists to become community fundraisers, etc).
Cross-organisational Role

Work closely with colleagues across the charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’.

Work particularly closely with colleagues in the Communications team, optimising opportunities for joint working.

Contribute actively and positively to charity-wide strategies.
Other Duties

Continually develop your knowledge of alcohol harm and solutions to it.

About FareShare South West
FareShare South West is the region’s largest food redistribution charity. We take good-to-eat surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, and share it with over 400 charities, schools and community hubs across the south west, joining the dots between food waste and hunger and transforming an environmental problem into social good.
Purpose of role
FareShare South West’s (FSSW) fundraising need and strategy has developed and diversified rapidly in line with major growth since 2017. Trusts and Grants make up a significant percentage of FSSW’s annual fundraised income.
The Trusts and Grants Officer (TO) will be responsible for managing our portfolio of small grants (up to £15k) alongside supporting larger grant applications where appropriate. This involves researching available funding opportunities, maintaining a prospect list and applying to relevant opportunities. The TO will work with the Fundraising Manager (FM) to create compelling fundraising applications for both core funding and specific projects. They will be responsible for the stewardship of their funders, ensuring that they meet reporting guidelines, share impact data appropriately and keep funders updated of any project changes.
This role will suit an individual with excellent writing skills looking to develop their skills in the charity sector. The successful candidate will be able to create powerful narratives incorporating factual data and emotive case studies and be confident in approaching funders and promoting FareShare South West.
This role will be based in our central Bristol office, with occasional home working and occasional travel to our Plymouth warehouse.
The pay scale for this role reflects that we're open to applications from experienced Trusts and Grants Fundraisers, and also those looking to move into the sector who have transferable skills.

This varied role will lead on the delivery of a diverse portfolio of events and challenges including fun runs, adrenaline seeking challenges and in memory events. The success candidate will have a friendly and engaging personality and enjoy speaking to charity supporters face to face, over the phone and via e-mail.
Reporting directly to the Senior Events Manager you will grow the income generation and brand profile of the charity through effective organisation, administration, supporter engagement and marketing our exciting events portfolio, ensuring maximum participation and income for the hospice. You will utilise your creative skills to proactively seek new income generation opportunities and design new events for our growing calendar. You will be a highly organised and motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a portfolio of designated events with proven success of reaching and exceeding participant and income targets. You should also have knowledge and experience of working with a range of suppliers and volunteers and have a proven ability to build relationships at all levels. Experience of using CRMs is also advantageous.

We are looking for an experienced and inspirational Operations Manager who will help build upon the 25 years of work Dressability has completed in the local community, altering and adapting clothing for people of all ages with learning and physical disabilities, and those with limited dexterity. The Operations Manager is a multifaceted role, engaged with the co-ordination of volunteers and employees in the delivery of projects and services to our clientele and the wider community. They will need to have strong communication and organisational skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients from a broad range of backgrounds, as well as health care professionals, businesses, suppliers, and funders. Key Responsibilities
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
• Working with Trustees to develop, co-ordinate, and action the Charity’s strategy and business plan. Setting objectives and managing the challenges and conflicting priorities to ensure the viable running of the services we provide.
• Ensure the Charity operates in accordance with the Charity Governance Code, its policies and procedures as well as best practices in order to fulfil all legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities.
• Submitting accurate updates, annual returns and other necessary documents to the Charity Commission and Companies House.
• Provide regular reports to the Board of Trustees, detailing operational performance, fundraising outcomes, and strategic initiatives.
FUNDRAISING AND BUDGET MANAGEMENT
• Handle the day-to-day finances of the organisation, managing bank accounts and investments and liaising with accountants and auditors.
• Monitoring our income and expenditure against targets as laid out in the business plan.
• Develop and execute fundraising strategies to support the organisations mission and growth objectives in conjunction with the Grants & Trusts Fundraiser.
• Source diverse income streams and funding to ensure long-term financial stability.
• Work with the Board of Trustees to set annual budgets and monitor spending.
• Research, prepare and submit funding applications.
OFFICE MANAGEMENT
• Day-to-day management of all paid employees and volunteers, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.
• Motivate and inspire staff and volunteers evaluating new projects and ways of working.
• Main Office Manager and point of contact for employees, volunteers, trustees, visitors and those sharing the premises with Dressability.
• Provide line management to the team, including monitoring standards, performance, the prioritisation of workloads, and conducting meetings with staff and volunteers as necessary.
• Manage the recruitment of new employees, as well as securing a broad base of volunteers from the local community.
• Manage health and safety on the premises as well as adherence to all policies and procedures.
• Co-ordinate on-site events, including campaigns, meetings, press briefings, hosting visitors etc.
• Liaise with the landlord for issues related to the shared premises.
DELIVERING SERVICE QUALITY
• Develop standards and maintain the quality of the services Dressability provides.
• Regularly monitor and evaluate the service to ensure quality and technical standards are met.
• Establish new services for clients where appropriate such as outreach projects and access to services in clinical settings.
• First point of contact for clients and team members when issues arise.
REQUIREMENTS
• Proven experience in day-to-day management of a diverse workforce, including both paid employees and volunteers, with strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, with the ability to develop and implement effective fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and inspiring both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Passion for our mission to ensure our clients with disabilities and the elderly are able to dress independently wearing clothing of their choice. Making a positive impact with our community projects.
• Full, clean driving license and access to own vehicle.
• Some knowledge of sewing / dressmaking in order to provide guidance to the team.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise the work of yourself and others.
• To approach tasks with flexibility, with the ability to adapt to changing dynamics.
• Able to sponsor and promote Dressability’s aims and objectives to the community through events, campaigns, online promotions, social media, and traditional news media.
