Job description

About our Organisation

The Soil Association, formed in 1946, is the only UK charity which works across the spectrum of human health, the environment and animal welfare. That’s because we cannot tackle these issues in isolation.

We campaign for change, we support farming innovation, we serve healthy food in communities, we support and grow the organic market, and we protect forests. We couldn't do any of this without our supporters, partners, donors and dedicated staff. We make a difference in the world where it’s needed the most.

Working within the Trusts and Foundations team, the Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager will grow income for the charity through high value grants and support the directorate’s ambition for securing sustainable long-term funding. The Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager will also be responsible for implementing an effective stewardship plan to build strong relationships with existing and prospective funders by positively representing and raising the profile of the Soil Association, both internally and externally.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a track record of securing 6-7 figure sums, ideally via government-funded and researcher-led opportunities. You will have significant experience of using multiple platforms to identify and research suitable opportunities, managing a portfolio of prospects and , building and stewarding relationships. You will thrive in a fast paced environment, be able to work to deadlines and have a results-driven and solutions-focused attitude. You will have a confident nature with excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable with high-level external representation. You will have strong influencing and negotiating skills and significant experience of writing inspiring applications and factual reports. You will be a brilliant collaborator and team player with experience of working to structured fundraising processes.
