The Role

The WorldGBC is seeking a dedicated Advocacy and Engagement Manager to join our dynamic team. The Role:

The Partner Engagement Lead is responsible for key account management, and specifically developing and supporting relationships with programme sponsors and partners within the WorldGBC network.

The Partner Engagement Lead will work closely alongside the programme/projects team subject leads, taking responsibility for day to day management of activities that relate to sponsors or stakeholders, including partner relationships, external collaborations and fundraising.

The Partner Engagement Lead will report to the Director of Programmes Strategy.

This role will contribute to the achievement of the “Forest for the Future” and CAR programmes objectives by monitoring project implementation against objectives, providing comprehensive support to the L&L team, and directly supporting partner NGOs involved in the projects.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of and/or interest in forest governance and human rights, particularly in Central Africa. Climate Campaigner

EIA is seeking a Climate Campaigner: F-Gases and Sustainable Cooling to join our Climate Team focused on campaigning at UK, European and international levels for a rapid reduction in emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases) and the transition to sustainable cooling.

Role purpose:

This key role will focus on eliminating ozone depleting substances and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in the cooling sector, improving energy efficiency of replacement technologies, and holding companies and industry to account for their climate and environmental impacts. Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of key aspects of the campaign this role will ensure that the campaign strategy is implemented effectively. 

About you:

You will need experience in advocacy and campaigning on European (including UK) and/or global environmental policy along with a broad understanding of climate change and UK, EU and global climate policy. You will need experience of conducting detailed research projects, as well as engaging and influencing diverse stakeholders and strong communication skills will be key. 

What we offer:

This is a full-time permanent position.

You will receive a salary of £36,000 - £40,000 per annum dependent on experience. FareShare Midlands is the region’s largest food redistribution charity, fighting food poverty and hunger by tackling waste. We source good quality food that is surplus to requirements from the food industry. An army of volunteers help redistribute this food to over 500 frontline charities and community groups such as school breakfast clubs, community centres and organisations supporting those who are homeless, unemployed, socially isolated and recovering from addiction. These organisations provide meals and food parcels to over 67,000 vulnerable people every week.   We also support people through our Employability programmes, enabling them to learn skills and find rewarding work – some for the first time.  

Hunger is a growing issue in the UK and while there is surplus food that is otherwise going to waste, we believe that this food should be used to feed people first. 

The Role

This role will work closely with the Volunteer Manager to coordinate and administrate the daily running of our volunteer programme in the Nottingham area. You will be responsible for the timely collection, processing and updating of all volunteer data for the volunteer teams in your area.

You will also ensure that compliance data such as food hygiene certificates, driving licence checks etc. are completed and recorded within expected timeframes.

The role will involve working closely with the operations teams to ensure that volunteer inductions are completed and site rotas are maintained.

The Finance Systems Analyst is a newly created role which will have responsibility for the efficient running and maintenance of ClientEarth’s finance systems, including Access Focal Point- which has been in use for over five years and Workday Adaptive Planning, a new system for the organisation. This role is required due to the rapid growth of ClientEarth and investment in new systems. You will provide essential support for current finance processes, suggest improvements to those processes to maximise their value and provide input into systems strategy for the finance department into the future.

A finance professional for thirty four years, Catherine has had a career of two halves, first in the corporate sector working for BDO Binder Hamlyn,  Boots UK, Waterstones and Tesco and then in the Charity sector, gaining an MSC in Charity finance from Bayes Business school, working for MSI Reproductive Choices and joining ClientEarth in 2021. As Head of Finance, Planning and Analysis, Catherine manages a team of ten business partners supporting the programme and core staff in their vital mission to use the power of the Law to bring about systematic change to protect the earth.

What's the role about?

As our Nature Based Solutions Manager, you will be at the forefront of the co-creation of NBS that change peoples' lives and the places they live in two projects - Project Sponge in Slough and Community Bluescapes in Richmond, London. Alongside the other team members, you will demonstrate the power of urban wetlands and other blue infrastructure to help communities to adapt to climate change and build better, safer, more natural places to live.

Your key role will be to co-design and deliver with the local community NBS interventions that build resilience to flooding, provide space for wetland wildlife and improve health and well-being of citizens. You'll manage the tendering process and contractors; ensure high quality and innovative interventions are created and effectively communicate messages about climate change and nature-based solutions to citizens, partners and stakeholders.

This is an exciting, innovative approach to climate change adaptation at street and neighbourhood level. It places local residents at the heart of decision-making, design and delivery of interventions that help keep them safe from floods, droughts, heat stress and create more natural places too.

This role is suitable for hybrid working with the expectation that the successful candidate will spend up to half the working week on site with options for working from home or in office accommodation as appropriate.

 About You

You'll need  a professional qualification in NBS/SuDS/NFM design and installation or similar or significant equivalent experience from previous roles.

FareShare and the Irish social enterprise FoodCloud have been working together since 2016 in a partnership designed to help UK retailers address the issue of edible surplus food they may have within their stores. Using this App we are connecting charities with edible surplus foods. Initially this scheme has been working with Tesco, with a view to roll this service out to all retailers across the UK & Ireland in the longer term. The role

As Community Coordinator, your role will focus on the growth and sustainability of the FareShare Go programme, through maximising relationships and adding value to create the best experience for our charity community. The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator, with an approachable nature who will play a vital role in developing and maintaining charity and retailer relationships, plus raising awareness of FareShare Go across your local area. 

Main areas of responsibility

• Charity account management: You will carry out virtual calls and in person visits with new and existing charities, and be responsible for ensuring that coverage KPIs are reached and maintained for both new and existing retailers. Using your analysis of charity needs, plus your knowledge of retailer and store profiles, you will use these visits to maximise the offer to charities, ensuring the service meets their requirements. 
• Community Capacity Building: As part of the Building of relationships with charities, you will seek opportunities to enable and empower charities to increase their capacity and ability to take more food, to ultimately increase the redistribution of surplus food to those in need. 
• Sustainability and Compliance: You will work with your Regional Manager and team to identify stores where re-engagement activities are needed to improve charity coverage and charity compliance. You will work to maximise the amount of food collected by charities with lower levels of compliance. You will also be responsible for undertaking food safety reviews with charities to ensure compliance. 
• Retailer Engagement: You will play a key role in maintaining strong retailer relationships across your region. You will take an active role in any meet and greets with retailers, where required. Plus, you will be responsible for maintaining regular contact with the relevant retail stakeholders in your region, sensitively dealing with any issues in a professional manner, as and when they arise.
