Our Senior Community Apprentice Programme develops confidence and essential employability skills in Year 12 pupils. As a Programme Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our young people to learn by doing good!
As Programme Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of programme delivery and management of the Senior (KS5) Community-Apprentice programme in a cluster of schools, from looking after your donors and corporate partners to facilitating activities with young people. It is ideal for someone who wants to be able to manage a programme whilst still being on the front line of working with young people!
The role will include delivery of weekly in-school sessions and business mentoring sessions held at the offices of our corporate partnerships, as well as ensuring that the goals and targets of the programme are met. You will recruit and mange volunteers to support in these sessions.
You’ll need to be the sort of person who relishes responsibility, because you will have lots of it. But this will also give you ownership of the programme, and the autonomy to make decisions based on your experience of what is best for your young people. This does mean that you’ll need to be good at taking initiative and setting your own priorities to achieve your objectives.
You will have support from an experienced Programmes Team, working across Birmingham, Bristol, and in other areas of London doing the same thing as you are. You will also recruit and manage a range of volunteers, and be responsible for their input into the programme.
As we are a small organisation, you’ll also be asked to get stuck in and involved in other areas and aspects of the charity. This is a great professional development opportunity and will help you to get to really understand how all aspects of a third sector organisation works - you certainly won’t ever just feel like a ‘cog in a wheel’!
