Job Description

Envision works with schools to enrich education by empowering young people to tackle social issues which matter most to them from gang crime to mental health.  It’s inspiring work.

Our Community-Apprentice inter-school competitions are designed and facilitated to engage young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who often have first hand experience of social problems.  They are facilitated to develop confidence and skills and have been proven to be effective in a rigorous randomised control trial.

The programmes offer a great model for impactful business engagement and much of our funding comes from corporate partners. A key part of this role will be developing new corporate partnerships and bringing on board new schools to grow the programme in Birmingham.  You will also have responsibility for delivering on current contracts and oversee the delivery team.

We empower young people to lead their own projects so they are motivated by a sense of ownership.  So too for our Regional Managers. You’ll be captain of your own ship and you’ll be responsible for the successes and failures.  You’ll be the sort of person who relishes responsibility and is highly goal driven. We’re not looking for dreamers.  We need a realistic idealist.  You’ll be highly cause driven and determined to make a difference but recognise that we won’t achieve it without funding.  You’ll be driven to succeed, willing to go to those breakfast and evening networking events and have the resilience to get up and keep trying when people turn you down. You won’t necessarily be a proven fundraiser, but you will need to demonstrate that you can and will generate new business and forge partnerships.  You’ll need to be commercial in your approach and focused on meeting the needs of our partners as well as our own.

The role would suit an ambitious individual keen to make an impact who enjoys networking and relationship building as much as project management.  It would particularly suit a young manager who is looking to run their own charity one day as you will have a chance to prove yourself and take on considerable responsibility.  As a member of the management team, you will also gain valuable insight into what it takes to run a successful national organisation.
