London Living Wage £10.75ph
Contract, Part-time, Internship
Job description

Equally Ours is looking for an intern to learn from and contribute to our work. You'll focus on important policy projects, including supporting the Funders for Race Equality Alliance to improve the practice of funders and increase investment in race equality.

You will have the opportunity to learn about the UK’s equality and human rights agenda while participating in the day-to-day activities of an NGO with a eighteen-year track record of helping make equality and human rights a reality in people’s lives.

You’ll assist with organising, hosting and administering meetings and events. You will also provide support on research, and monitoring and evaluation of projects, as well as other tasks.

Equally Ours works on the basis of partnership and dialogue with a wide range of individuals and organisations across government, academia, funders, and the voluntary sector. The internship is therefore an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to develop connections perhaps with a view to future work in these fields.

This internship is for someone from a Black, Asian, minority ethnic, or mixed race background. Our internship programme is a positive action initiative under the Equality Act 2010. It is part of our commitment to addressing the under-representation of people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds in Equally Ours and in policy and public affairs roles in the wider voluntary sector.

You will be managed by a Black senior member of staff, who has a wealth of experience to share, and will be working within a team who are committed to equality and continuous learning.

Location and hours

The post will be remote to begin with due to Covid-19, then will be based in the offices of Age UK at 1-6 Tavistock Square, London, WC1H 9NA. The office is open-plan and friendly, is wheelchair accessible and easy to reach by public transport (bus, train and underground).

Because of project requirements, you must usually be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There may be some days when there is flexibility on this or occasional days where you might be needed on another day. We will be as accommodating as possible.
