Job description

Our small board of trustees needs your expertise!

Eskdale Mill is Grade II* listed and is the last remaining working water powered corn mill in the Lake District National Park. Nestled in the picturesque Eskdale valley its history can be traced back at least to 1547.

The Mill is operated as a visitor attraction by the Eskdale Mill & Heritage Trust registered as a company limited by guarantee and a charity.

The Mill has developed into a superb facility (with award-winning exhibitions) in the last couple of years following a major National Heritage Lottery funded restoration. It makes a valuable contribution to tourism and provides volunteer opportunities in the valley. Visitor feedback has consistently been extremely positive and we receive regular 5* reviews: “to be invited to pass through the mill’s long history is a real delight”

We are embarking on an exciting new phase of operation and are seeking ambitious, dynamic and passionate new trustees with the skills to take the business forward and to enhance the mill’s reputation as an outstanding attraction.

We are seeking to recruit trustees who can bring new skills into the management team such as business development, income generation, tourism, education, human resources and volunteer management but would be interested to hear from anyone who would like to support our unique gem in celebrating the industrial and social heritage of the valley.

Get in touch. We’d love to hear from you!
