Hand in Hand are a lean operation, with 90% of all funds raised being spent directly on programmes in 2023-2024. You will play an important part in maximising funds raised for Hand in Hand, contributing to long-term success.

Reporting directly to Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the primary objective of the role is to manage existing grants and accounts, secure new funding and manage a Philanthropy and Partnerships Officer.

Your key focus will be identifying, creating relationships with and securing donations from corporate and family Trusts and Foundations and/or major donors. The role is highly international, working with colleagues across Afghanistan, Kenya and Tanzania, and a prospect base spread across globe.

Key responsibilities

• Grow income securing five- and six-figure gifts from Trusts and Foundations (60%) Corporate (30%) and Major Donors (10%) supporting an income target of £1.8m.
• Drive the expansion of Hand in Hand’s income by securing significant gifts ranging from five to seven figures from both new and existing donors.
• Engage senior-level donors through calls, meetings, and events to provide updates on project advancements and identify additional donation opportunities.
• Collaborate with UK-based colleagues and in-country teams in the creation of comprehensive proposals, including narrative content, logical frameworks, and budgets.

Ideal experience

• Proven experience in high value fundraising across, trusts, corporate or major donor.
• Proven track record of building strong relationships with donors, and ultimately securing, as part of a team, successful asks of five or six figure gifts from UK and/or non-UK based donors.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a results-driven approach.

Financial Controller - Projects | London | 12-month FTC | £55,000 - £60,000

For a leading global NGO, we're recruiting a Project Financial Controller for a fixed term of 12-months. Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller and working closely with the CEO, this role will lead the financial management and internal controls for the Regional and Country offices and shared service processes and transactions. The Projects Financial Controller will implement robust management reporting, and cash-flow forecasts, and will work with stakeholders to monitor budgets and forecasts. This is a key role within the NGO, and will be instrumental in building Finance knowledge, capacity and delivering training to Regional and country offices.

What you'll be doing:

• Monitoring and improving financial control processes
• Monitoring and analysing Regional, Country, Project and Departmental budgets and reporting including annual accounts of Country offices and reporting to external Donors
• Provide capacity building, training, and Finance support to all stakeholders
• Set up accounting systems for Country Offices and global offices, proposing improvements and robust controls
• Lead monthly and yearly close processes and review and prepare statutory audit deliverables
• Review and validate Country proposals, Donor proposals and reporting
• Review and reconcile Donor and Partner grants and reporting
• Support the migration and consolidation of data for closing processes

What you'll offer:

• Strong experience of financial management processes and reporting within an international development or humanitarian NGO
• Strong experience of financial control, and financial project management
• Strong experience of Excel, and ideally Unit 4
• Track-record improving finance processes, systems, and controls
• Experience of Donor compliance with a range of Donors including DFID, FCDO, USAID, ECHO, UN

My client is a Not-for-Profit organisation that supports grassroots bodies working towards more inclusive sexual and reproductive health and rights in South Asia and Africa.

At an exciting time of growth, they are looking to appoint an interim Head of Finance, reporting directly to the Chief Executive.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead on all aspects of the organisation’s finances, ensuring accurate and timely reporting

Key responsibilities

• Manage the development, delivery and evaluation of the new brand platform and campaigns.
• Support the roll out of the brand platform across the charity.
• Develop and implement media plans and creative assets for campaigns.
• Lead day-to-day relationships with media and creative agencies.
• Line manage the Brand Marketing Officer.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and phasing of spend.
• Stay abreast of the latest consumer and marketing trends.

You will need:

• Significant experience of integrated campaign delivery and measurement.
• Experience of working with high-profile brands to develop and implement brand marketing strategies.
• A strong understanding of the media landscape.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and consultative skills.
• The ability to prioritise and deliver high quality work under pressure.
• Financial acumen and experience managing budgets.

Working across Africa, Asia and Latin America this INGO is based in Central London looking for a strong FP&A leader to join and add value quickly.

The Role:
A newly  created role to help set up the FP&A team by bringing together the FBPs into one team. Reporting directly into the CFO, and working closely with other department heads and SLT to provide analysis for the decision making process within the charity on both an operational and financial basis. A real opportunity to add value quickly, and oversee all aspects of FP&A. Managing a team of 3 FBPs.

The Successful Candidate:

- Fully Qualified Accountant ( ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA)
- Demonstrable experience in both Finance Business Partnering and all aspects of Financial Planning and Analysis.

• Develop and deliver annual plans and budgets for recruiting new donors through diverse channels.
• Lead an effective direct marketing donor acquisition programme, ensuring maximum income within budget constraints.
• Shape and implement mass marketing plans for cash, regular giving, and lottery programmes.
• Drive growth through direct mail, telemarketing, digital, face-to-face, and other effective techniques.
• Work with the Head of Growth and Acquisition to strategise and capitalise on growth opportunities.
• Provide motivational leadership to the Supporter Acquisition Officer, driving both objective achievement and professional development.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to base decisions on the best available insight and analysis.
