Job description

To contribute to the European Movement’s twin objectives of campaigning for a closer relationship with the European Union, and growing the European Movement as a mass membership organisation, through:

  • delivering the European Movement’s organic and paid-for social media operation;
  • Leading the development of compelling creative content for social media and other online channels and for use in campaigns both on- and off-line

Responsibilities & experience

  • An expert in-depth understanding of advertising and targeting across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube
  • Contribute to the development of a broader strategic communications strategy, and develop a forward-looking content and social media calendar
  • Managing a budget to be spent on promoting social media posts and keeping track of data and analysing the performance of social media campaigns
  • Keeping on top of new and upcoming platforms, social media trends and channels
  • Ensure our social media activity is ‘always on’ - proactively and reactively identify opportunities for engagement with our followers on social media channels, in line with comms and campaigns objectives
  • Create organic content for European Movement UK channels, including social media content, graphics and videos, blogs etc.
  • Deliver paid-for campaign strategies, developing and targeting Facebook ads, monitoring and responding to their performance and reporting on results
  • Manage the social media platforms and contribute to the management of other EM channels.
  • Evaluate European Movement’s day to day social media activity with a focus on growth in reach and engagement, providing regular reports to the senior team
  • Contribute to the development of campaigns, in line with agreed political objectives and audience insight
  • Identify opportunities, issues and risks relating to our external communications or the external environment and share them with the senior team in a timely fashion
  • Handle social media and other communications enquiries outside of normal office hours
