Do you have experience of working with children and young people and do you understand the challenges that they face? Are you passionate about empowering young people to have their voices heard? If so, you could be part of an exciting new project.
At Healthwatch Somerset, we’re committed to ensuring our health and care service is shaped by the people who use it. We’re the county’s independent health and care champion and we exist to make sure people are at the heart of care.
We want to ensure that children and young people from across the county are listened to and heard by the people who buy, plan and run health and social care services in Somerset. We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Youth Worker to lead an exciting new Young Listeners project.
You will lead the project and recruit, train and support a team of 10 young listeners who will in turn engage with other children and young people from across Somerset offering a peer to peer engagement approach. It will be a varied and interesting job and no two days will be the same.
You will need a can-do attitude, be enthusiastic and a ‘people person’. You will also need to be a team player who enjoys being part of and contributing to a small and dynamic team.
In return we offer 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a generous contributory pension scheme, comfortable office accommodation in Bridgwater and flexible working practices.
Closing date for applications: Midnight on Friday 28 August 2020
Date for interview: Friday 4 September 2020 in Bridgwater
