Support us to offer online tuition to vulnerable pupils.

Help us to offer heavily subsidised online tuition and help improve disadvantaged pupils’ life chances.

Description

 

We are urgently looking for:

 

  • Volunteer Online Tutors

 

  • Volunteer Online French Tutors.

 

Volunteer Online Tutor

Volunteer Online Tutors should be able to demonstrate the flexibility to provide one-to-one online tuition to primary and secondary school pupils in all of the following subjects as requested by pupils:

  • English
  • Maths
  • Sciences
  • 11+ exam preparation
  • Homework help

Please note: Previous tutoring experience in the specific subjects listed above is not essential, just a willingness to help pupils fulfil their academic potential.

 

What we are looking for in Volunteer Online Tutors

  • Has the ability to understand the needs of pupils
  • Can answer pupils’ questions and enable them to gain clarify in English, Maths, Sciences and 11+ exam preparation
  • Has experience in education/teaching/teaching assistant
  • Can provide online tuition across several subject areas including English, Maths, Sciences and 11+ exam preparation
  • Understands the resource constraints of a small social enterprise and is able to work with these.
  • Able to abide to safeguarding/child protection regulations when delivering online tuition.

Skills

·      Tutoring: various subjects

Volunteer availability

  • English:  Monday, 5pm-7pm

 

  • Maths:  Tuesday, 5pm-7pm

 

  • Sciences:  Wednesday, 5pm-7pm

 

  • 11+ exam preparation:  Saturday, 10am-12pm

 

  • Homework help: Saturday, 12 noon- 2pm

 

Please note: To ensure continuity of services provided to pupils; a 3-month commitment is required from all volunteers.

 Making a difference

With your help we will be able to continue to help vulnerable pupils who have little or no academic support at home and find it difficult to work by themselves. During the COVID 19 crisis it is even more crucial to offer personalised academic intervention which is affordable and universally accessible to support disadvantaged pupils with their home learning. Your help will be invaluable in developing pupils’ awareness of independent study methods and techniques and ultimately raising their educational aspirations as well as helping them feel more empowered to fulfil their academic potential.

You would become part of our small, friendly team and you have the opportunity to use your time to make a real difference in difficult times. You will also benefit as described below:

·       gain valuable tutoring experience and enhance your cv

·       enhance your communication, mentoring and planning skills

·       grow in confidence and be a positive role model

·       help a pupil from a disadvantaged background improve their exam results

·       make a significant, lasting impact on a pupil’s future

Additional application details: All volunteers must either possess a DBS certificate or able to obtain one themselves.

 

Volunteer Online French Tutor

We would love Volunteer Online French Tutors who possesses:

  • a sound knowledge of the French language
  • confidence to deliver one-to-one online tuition to learners of all ages and abilities

Please note: Previous tutoring experience in French is not essential, just a willingness to help pupils fulfil their academic potential.

 

What we are looking for in Volunteer Online French Tutors

  • Has the ability to understand the needs of learners of all ages and abilities
  • Can answer learners’ questions and enable them to gain clarify in French
  • Has experience in French education/teaching French/ French teaching assistant
  • Can provide French online tuition to learners of all ages and abilities
  • Understands the resource constraints of a small social enterprise and is able to work with these.
