Individual Giving Fundraiser
Summary and key purpose (fundraising)
This new role will be primarily responsible for developing, marketing and managing our individual giving together with working across other fundraising disciplines. You will be a key member of our fundraising team, producing compelling fundraising communications, stewarding individual donors, including regular donors and gifts in memory. You will ensure that our donors receive excellent care.
Our Individual Giving programme will incorporate one-off donations, regular giving, digital fundraising, appeals and in-memory giving. You will do this, with the support of our recently appointed fundraising agency, who you will manage our relationship with week by week.
A critical element of the role will be how we market ourselves to potential new donors, taking them on an emotional engagement journey in order to solicit regular gifts.
Your expertise and skills:
To excel in this role, you will need prior experience of working in a fundraising setting, with an understanding of good stewardship practices. You should be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, working across teams and meeting multiple deadlines. Your excellent relationship management skills will enable you to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and gather information on new projects. You must have a thorough understanding of individual giving, developing donor journeys and experience of work with agencies.
Key responsibilities:
· Day-to-day management of the regular giving programme, project managing appeals and overseeing the thanking process for individual donors.
· Create, plan, deliver and evaluate multi-channel, compliant, insight-led, supporter-centric campaigns to engage and drive action from new and existing supporters.
· Manage our newly appointed fundraising agency, and in doing so, help deliver an ambitious appeal programme and income target.
· Review and develop operational plans for individual giving (including regular giving, in memory, digital fundraising and appeals) working to achieve agreed targets.
· Communicate and document key performance indicators across individual giving appeals. Ensuring you provide commentary to accompany results reporting, drawing on insights and the wider picture to add context and make recommendations from your learnings.
· Work with the fundraising agency and RABI communications team to produce and edit appropriate collateral.
· Devise and deliver supporter communications, including stewardship activity, welcome journey content and appeal communications.
· Help ensure that we comply with legal and compliance requirements including industry best practice, GDPR/PECR regulations and the CIOF code of Fundraising Practice.
· Develop and maintain good working relationships and liaison with other members of RABI staff.
· Take part and contribute to team meetings.
· Cooperate with RABI on health and safety matters, taking reasonable care of own and other people’s health and safety within the workplace. Follow and H&S training received and alert RABI to any serious risks.
· Actively participate in the staff appraisal scheme and be committed to training and development in line with RABI’s aims and objectives.
· Liaise with volunteers, clients, contractors and other stakeholders as necessary.
· Promote the Charity’s work, assisting with demonstrations and in fundraising and awareness events as appropriate.
· Perform any other reasonable task as required by the Charity.

Person Specification:
Essential
· Marketing or direct marketing or marketing qualification.
· Experience of using direct marketing methods to recruit, retain and develop supporters (e.g. telemarketing).
· Previous direct marketing or transferrable experience. This should include project managing or assisting a project manager to plan and deliver activity and evaluate results
· Planning, delivering and managing individual giving programmes.
· Delivering donor recruitment and retention projects from initiation to completion.
· Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets from unrestricted donations.
· Presenting confidently to a variety of audiences.
· Building relationships and maximising engagement with donors and supporters
· Able to create and tailor engaging and emotive copy for a range of different channels.
· Empathy with the goals and objectives of RABI.
· A positive and creative approach to work, with the ability to multitask.

Key Responsibilities
Philanthropy Events
- Work closely with team members to organise and manage the logistics for our major and mid-level donor event programme, comprising around 4-5 events a year, including the Rooftop Summer Drinks Party and November Private Dinner.
- Event management will include liaising with venue managers and suppliers both in the run up and during the event
- Work with the Philanthropy Executive to project manage on cross-income stream events, including sponsored challenge events such as the Impetus Triathlon, and Christmas Celebration Drinks.
Events Communication
- Support the Philanthropy team in putting together relevant event-related comms to all donors as required
- Manage systems and processes for fundraising events and actively look to improve and develop these alongside the Philanthropy Executive
- Manage the event side of the Salesforce database including guest list campaigns, pulling reports, creating mailing lists etc. Update the database with donor interactions, and other details in a timely and efficient manner.
Research
- Research and identify trends and news from the Events sector including new relevant venues, styles and fundraising event formats.
- Support the Philanthropy Executive in identifying trends and news from the wider fundraising sector.
Wider Philanthropy Support
- With the Philanthropy Executive, project manage relevant fundraising projects such as the June match funding appeal, and community fundraising projects including from schools and churches
- Provide ad hoc support to the Philanthropy team as required e.g. support with applications and reports, and hosting volunteers at Spear sessions.

We are looking for an Independent Advocate to join our team working on our Advocacy contract on a part time basis in Broadmoor. Prospectus is pleased to be working with a small and locally focused homelessness charity, supporting individuals and households that are facing housing issues across Enfield and Haringey. Delivering services to rough sleepers and those at risk of rough sleeping, their mission is to break cycles of poverty and disadvantage and tackle the issue of homelessness. They are now seeking a Lead Support Worker to join their team on FTC basis, initially until October 2024.
In 2021, the charity opened a day centre, set up to meet the needs of those rough sleeping and on the cusp of homelessness in the borough, to provide daytime respite and independent housing related support. Since then, they have continued to deliver a night shelter provision to rough sleeping clients which is open and accessible 24 hours a day.
In this role, you will lead their single occupancy night shelter provision as well as support the Day centre. The role will involve processing referrals into the project, undertaking initial assessments, conducting in-depth housing-related casework, and working effectively internally and with external partners to ensure clients are able to access the variety of support they need. You will also support service users from the Day Centre, supporting them with accessing services, attending appointments and general housing and homelessness related support.
Due to the nature of the role, you will have experience in building relationships and supporting vulnerable, disadvantaged, or excluded client groups, as well as dealing with challenging behaviours within a similar setting to the homelessness sector, as well as experience of managing and developing projects. It is desirable you have knowledge of issues facing people with ‘no recourse to public funds’, Housing Legislation, and other relevant legislation for vulnerable adults and of various statutory and voluntary agencies and projects offering advice services, accommodation, outreach and primary needs provision.
The working pattern for this position is 37.5 hours per week, Monday -Friday, 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm. You will spend Monday and Tuesday at the accommodation Hub and the remaining days at the Day Centre/outreach. BACKGROUND
The BIR is an international membership organisation, a multidisciplinary society and a registered charity. We are for everyone working in imaging, radiation oncology and the underlying sciences.
With a new five-year strategy in place, the Education team play a key role in one of our areas of greatest growth potential; helping to ensure the BIR remains financially sustainable in a changing environment, offering education to more people, and helping grow our membership.
We aim to deliver world class education, training and CPD in a wide range of new and exciting formats, in response to current and future market needs. In 2022/3 the Education team ran 39 events over the year, including 12 virtual events, 11 face-to-face events – including two that were hybrid, and 16 webinars.
JOB SUMMARY
This post is central to the activities of the BIR. The role-holder will ensure effective planning, marketing and delivery of the BIR’s educational events, which includes a combination of both in-person and virtual events. The role is hands-on and often involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You must be able to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear communication, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. You must be able to work well under pressure, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of an event. Some UK travel and out of hours working is involved.
MEETINGS PROGRAMME/TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
• To plan, coordinate and manage the educational events programme (currently approximately 39 events per year).
• To plan, develop and market the annual events calendar in a timely manner.
• To liaise as required with the Education Committee, Special Interest Groups and Regional Branches ensuring that educational events are proposed and organised within the annual events calendar (involved from inception to delivery).
• To attend and brief all BIR Special Interest Groups and Regional Branches on performance of meetings and events. This includes post-event evaluations (including data entry and analysis and producing reports for event stakeholders and Education Committee).
• Lead the delivery of our key annual events, including managing logistics, administration and engaging with speakers, delegates and sponsors at the event.
• To assist in delivering the education programme in a wide range of new and exciting formats.
• To undertake market research to identify opportunities for events.
• To work closely with ‘event leads’ to ascertain their precise event requirements. Also, responsible for bringing any deviation or potential risk to the programme to the attention of the Director of Educational Development in a timely manner.
• To source and develop relationships with sponsors, event exhibitors and corporate members
• To ensure that all tasks required to produce successful events are allocated to the appropriate staff member and to support staff in performing those tasks. To monitor income against budget and ensure that the BIR income is maximised through delivering excellent programmes and through creative use of facilities.
• To act as an ambassador for the BIR and foster strong relationships with stakeholders including sister organisations and industry contacts
• To prepare the annual budget forecasts for the coming year and monitor and report against performance during the year.
• To scope, secure and book suitable venues or locations for events.
• To ensure health and safety, insurance and legal obligations are adhered to.
• To co-ordinate venue management, caterers, exhibitors, contractors and equipment hire.
• To undertake any other duties, appropriate to the grade, as required by the Director of Educational Development/Chief Executive.

We are seeking a Digital Communications Manager to join our busy Communications team and contribute towards the organisation’s internal and external communications efforts with an emphasis on digital best practice. Reporting to the Head of Communications, this is an incredible opportunity to land a specialist role in a fast-growing corporate Foundation working on some of the world’s most pressing issues.
About the Role
As Digital Communications Manager at the Thomson Reuters Foundation, you will:

Write and edit communications material for both internal and external audiences across our digital platforms, understanding complex information and tailoring it for relevant audiences with SEO-friendly structure and messaging.

Work with the Foundation’s Audience and Product and Tech teams to act as the main point of contact for corporate digital communications activities, including content creation and positioning for Foundation websites, app development for Trust Conference and the creation of digital communications materials.

Manage the production of regular Foundation outputs such as the external newsletter while providing general communications support.

Implement and promote digital best practice as the digital comms lead within the team.

Use your deep understanding of analytics to report on key campaigns and the impact of ongoing communications efforts.

Liaise with the Foundation’s services and thought leadership teams in developing campaign plans to support their integrated communications needs, devising creative approaches and measuring impact.

Work with the Foundation’s social team to contribute to the messaging of social media marketing campaigns for major Foundation initiatives and relevant international days.

Please note that the role does not involve management of the Foundation’s social media channels. However, you will work very closely with the social team to ensure consistent content creation tailored to our communications objectives.
About You
To be our Digital Communications Manager, you will likely have:

Proven experience in digital communications, ideally for an international organisation, the development sector or within a fast-paced environment. Additional experience in integrated communications would be an asset.

Strong writing skills, with expert SEO knowledge, and a good understanding of user experience best practice and content management systems.

About this key role
In 2023, we launched an ambitious new income generation strategy for 2023 – 2026. This role is key to our ambitions to raise over £3million worth of income from Trusts and Foundations. You will be expected to:
• identify, research and develop relationships with Trusts and Foundations that align with our strategic objectives,
• prepare applications in line with funder requirements,
• write and submit excellent funding proposals and applications for a range of services across England and Wales.
We will count on you to manage approximately 30 Trust & Foundations, providing a high level of donor care, preparing reports, funder visits and reapplications in a timely manner, while also leading on ensuring our database (ETapestry) is maintained and used to its full potential. As well as providing line management to Fundraising Officer, you will compile updates to Head of Fundraising providing briefings on funding streams and strategic recommendations, prepare service budgets for applications and work with Service Managers to track and report on these budgets, plus prepare regular communication materials for Trusts and Foundations.

• One-year experience working in a charity fundraising environment.

Why Work for The Difference?
Schooling isn’t working for the children who need it most. Every week in England 109 children – equivalent to three full classrooms – are permanently excluded. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Since the pandemic, school suspensions have risen significantly, as has persistent absenteeism. 1 in 5 children are missing more than 10% of their time in school. Children who are excluded or persistently absent are much more likely to already be experiencing vulnerability or disadvantage. They are more likely to live in poverty, have additional learning needs, suffer mental health challenges, or experience a lack of safety outside school. Certain ethnicities are also disproportionately affected, notably Gypsy Roma Traveller and black Caribbean children.
Exclusion and high rates of absence can have a dramatic effect on life chances. These young people are more likely to drop out of education or employment, become vulnerable to long-term mental ill health, or be at risk of criminal exploitation. The Difference believes that children and young people deserve better and that the education system has to change.
Our Organisation
The Difference is a young education charity, founded to change the story on lost learning. By 2030, we want rates of exclusion and absence to be falling nationally and for schools to be better equipped to support all children, including those who may be vulnerable.
The Difference was born out of a year of research into school exclusions with think-tank IPPR. This research identified a lack of inclusion expertise in schools and proposed a new leadership development programme to fill this gap. In 2018, Difference founder Kiran hired the team who took this idea from concept to reality, beginning work with our first schools.
The Difference is now a 22-strong team delivering multiple school leadership programmes, alongside a growing research and policy arm. The team is supported by our Youth Advisory Board, made up of young people who have experienced exclusion and who provide their expertise and insights on how school inclusion work should be done. This work is needed more than ever. Effects of COVID-19, coupled with the spiralling cost of living, have substantially increased levels of vulnerability. Schools serving excluded pupils face under-funding. The Difference has had excellent early impact but there is work ahead to capture this, share learning with schools and policy-makers, and grow our capacity to lower exclusions across England.
The Task Ahead: Head of Impact
In 2022, The Difference established a Research, Impact and Influencing Directorate, indicating the growing importance of this work to our mission. We’re doing more to understand (and evidence) how school leaders who take part in our programmes are driving impactful inclusion in their schools. And we intend to use this to have a national impact on how schools are measured and driven to put pupil wellbeing, safety and belonging at the heart of their work. Improving our understanding of the impact of inclusion is key to successfully changing the story for students currently struggling in schools.
Key Tasks for this role include:

Strengthen our monitoring, evaluation and impact systems: using methods that are both qualitative (interviews, case-studies, roundtables) and quantitative (staff and student surveys, school data tracking), and collating and analysing the data collected to diagnose successes, challenges and opportunities within our work streams.

Act as an internal consultant with the team: bringing stakeholder feedback together in clear presentations for other staff members and acting as a “critical friend” during delivery and strategy planning. Identify insights that point to continuous improvement of our programmes and work with Programme Team to utilise insights.

Develop our qualitative framework to better track and measure whole-school inclusion. This framework will aim not just to support improved work for children in our schools, but to define what good looks like in the sector.

Progress our ambition to make inclusion more tangibly measurable: plan user-research with school partners to identify inclusion data needs and use these findings to develop impact tools that collate exclusion, attendance and demographic data. Work with others in the sector using innovative methods to measure inclusion through national datasets.

Expand our work on measuring school inclusion through student experience of safety, wellbeing and belonging. Grow the reach of our current survey tools and collaborating with others in the sector doing innovative work on student voice and inclusion.
