About

The post-holder will provide effective professional guidance, advice, signposting and sensitive support to residents who are experiencing welfare difficulties of a non-academic nature affecting their ability to learn and maintain a health daily lifestyle.

The role will support individual residents, working in partnership with other departments and colleagues to establish reasonable and effective methods of support or adjustments for residents in situations of difficulty or with challenging circumstances.

Working alongside other department managers, the Resident Welfare Officer will signpost and recommend both internal and external specialist services and treatment providers where necessary. Where appropriate, the Resident Welfare Officer will work directly with residents to limit the impact a problem could have on a residents wellbeing, undertaking individual case work. This role does not directly itself provide specialist practitioner support or clinically qualified treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, advice, support and signposting to residents, responding to and independently resolving a range of welfare queries and issues, within agreed boundaries.
• Provide a non-judgemental, effective and respected service to residents, some of whom may be experiencing challenging situations and require specific advice and support.
• Assess the complexity and risk involved in individual resident cases, referring to the COO or other department managers.
• Provide appropriate short-term support in the event of a resident reporting a serious welfare incident, violence, a hate crime and/or risk of radicalisation.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key contacts across other professional services, as well as external bodies, support groups and professional services, to support own work, including individual resident casework and organised activities
• Monitor Chapel and classroom attendance and where necessary identify and address areas of concern. Oversee the pastoral care, delivered by Mattersey staff, and make any necessary responses to identified areas of concern.
• Promote support services to Mattersey Hall staff to raise awareness of potentially vulnerable residents and encourage and support staff in referral techniques.Collaborate with colleagues to solve problems outside own area, such as developing solutions to welfare related issues that extend across other Green Pastures partnerships.
• Ensue that accurate records, letters and documentation for individual resident are kept.onitor relevant information data and liaise with academic and professional services colleagues to proactively identify and engage those students who appear to be at risk of disengaging with and/or failing in their activities at Mattersey Hall.
• Contribute to proposed changes in procedures, plans, priorities and office systems to improve operational efficiency and quality of the Residents Welfare.
• Work with colleagues to develop, improve and manage processes that identify and support vulnerable students.

What is Screen Share? 

Screen Share is a grassroots refugee charity which provides laptops, phones, tablets, data, digital skills to refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. We use the power of volunteering to turn discarded tech into good quality techical tools for refugees to improve their situation on their own terms. We are now launching a laptop refurbishment training programme for refugees in London and are looking for someone to run it and provide ad-hoc technical support to our team of volunteer laptop refurbishers! 

Role overview

Screen Share is looking for a proactive, self-starter and leader to launch a laptop refurbishment training programme for refugees in London, support tech volunteers to remotely refurbish laptops, respond to faults and perceived faults with devices we have provided to service users, and support with sourcing and refurbishing devices.

The postholder will have experience of at least Level 2 laptop repair and an interest in upskilling others in basic laptop refurbishment 

Outcome 1 

Co-design and co-deliver a laptop refurbishment training programme for 40 refugees and asylum seekers in London 

• Co-design a laptop refurbishment training programme for 40 refugees 

• Co-deliver the training programme in London

• Support with the logistics necessary for running a multi-cohort programme

• Create resources for learners and guide them through refurbishment workshops 

Outcome 2 

Respond to reported laptop faults by providing remote support or requesting a return

• Run remote diagnostics with service users whose laptops have developed faults or supposed faults. 

• Make an assessment of whether remote repair is possible or whether return is necessary.

• Engage kindly, patiently, politely and on a trauma-informed basis with service-users.

Outcome 3 

Provide technical support in laptop refurbishment and data destruction for staff, volunteers and prospective laptop donors 

• Be the contact point for tech volunteers and tech trainees who need support with the laptop refurbishment process. 

• Advise prospective tech donors on their data destruction options and best practice.

• Support the Digital Access Project Manager with the technical elements of her role, ensuring the tech volunteers are following the most efficient standardised refurbishment process. 

• Think critically and collaboratively about our existing technical refurbishment process (including software, hardware, peopleware, charityware, and tech disposal),  suggest alternatives to the methods currently used, support their implementation where appropriate and record that process of development. 

• Offer critical reflections on facilitating remote digital skills training. 

Outcome 4

Lead by example by personally maintaining a steady flow of laptop refurbishment

• Receive, refurbish and redistribute laptops and other devices 

• Keep Airtable and other tracking system up to date 

• Communicate consistently with the Digital Access Project Manager on required parts and economical refurbishment

• Engage with Communications team to share the process and impact of laptop refurbishment

Outcome 5 

Support and facilitate the donation of devices 

• Approach and meet with prospective laptop donors, explaining our data destruction and logistics process where necessary

• Communicate confidently to donors about the impact of Screen Share laptops for service users

About you

We do ask that you have good literacy and numeracy skills to at least Level 2 (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths & English. A relevant qualification is essential for our Level 2 Learning Support Assistant position e.g. RQF/NVQ Level 2 in Teaching/Learning.

About the role:

Role purpose

The MEAL Coordinator will travel with the emergency response team to deliver emergency shelter responses, to enhance programme quality and embed a culture of organisational learning and accountability. Sitting within the Programme Quality team, the MEAL Coordinator will play a significant role to strengthen participant voice and accountability, enable data driven decision making and help to identify best practice and innovative shelter solutions allowing people to recover and rebuild their lives.

The MEAL Coordinator will lead/support key processes that enhance programme/project delivery. They liaise with programme managers/emergency coordinators and partner organisations to provide technical support and ensure programmes/projects adhere to agreed processes, namely needs assessments, log frame development, robust and transparent community feedback mechanisms and the development of the MEAL plan. They will also provide technical input on data collection exercises, data analysis for routine monitoring exercises as well as designing/coordinating review /evaluation processes. 

The MEAL Coordinator will play an important role in promoting organisational learning and embedding a culture of reflection, analysis, and learning. Working together with Programme Managers & Emergency field coordinators, they will ensure learning frameworks are in place so that lessons are learned (both positive and negative) are captured, responded to, and shared with peers. They will work closely with the Programme Delivery Team and Technical Specialists to identify and/or support the establishment of Action Research projects that will contribute to improvements and innovations within the shelter sector. 

There is significant travel with this role (up to 50% FTE), and the post holder must be prepared to travel at short notice for up to two months at a time. The MEAL Coordinators may also be asked to contribute to the development of organisational policy papers on mainstreaming or technical areas such as cash programming.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

Project Support (70% FTE):

The MEAL coordinator is a core member of the project team and will work closely with the project lead to ensure project quality and accountability. They will lead processes or liaise with partners (depending on implementation model) to ensure ShelterBox standards are adhered to. Specifically, they will:

• Advise/Carry out needs assessments to inform project design
• Facilitate technical MEAL component of Organizational Capacity Assessments and support with the development of capacity strengthening plans for potential partners
• As relevant, support the delivery of Capacity Building Action Plans, through the development of appropriate resources/ providing in-person and remote training /mentoring on MEAL concepts and practice.  This will also involve reviewing training courses/modules, developing resources, and providing training.
• Collaborate with partners and implementing teams to, support project/log frame development with clear outcomes/outputs and SMART indicators, in line with organizational reporting requirements
• Ensure robust MEAL plans are in place, and that SADD distribution data is robust
• Ensure robust and transparent community feedback mechanisms are functioning and support safeguarding processes
• Provide technical input/Lead data collection exercises (both quantitative and qualitative)
• Liaise with partners and implementing teams to ensure the MEAL Plans are operationalized and that the data/reports provided by partners are robust, verifiable and with the appropriate degree of objectivity.
• Ensure project documentation is up to date
• Support data analysis and the facilitation of learning and reflection based on findings that result in data-led decision making
• Coordinate/Facilitate/carry out end of project evaluation processes in line with DAC criteria.
• Ensure all projects/programmes are contributing to organisational KPI reporting. Develop and populate Information Management systems as appropriate.
• Liaise with the Grant Management team to ensure that all projects MEAL systems and processes are in line with donor requirements, and support programme managers to submit quality narrative reports in a timely fashion.

Knowledge creation and sharing (20% FTE):

• Ensure that each Project logframe, MEAL plan and Learning and Accountability Framework are up-to-date and facilitate continuous and conscious reflection and learning. 
• Utilising M&E data, evaluation findings and wider sector understanding, develop thematic discussions to strengthen understanding within ShelterBox and in relevant Communities of Practice. 

Infrastructure development (10% FTE):

• Contribute to the development of policies, SOPs and processes that strengthen project delivery and accountability.
• Ensure ShelterBox is abreast of new technological developments supporting information gathering and analysis, particularly methodologies that empower affected populations to communicate with ShelterBox and to share their insights enhancing participation.

Working Requirements: This role will support the design and implementation of rapid response emergency project that will demand prolonged travel (up to two months) at very short notice. For remote workers: travel to Truro HQ for collaboration weeks approx. 3 times a year, and additional meetings as requested.

Job Purpose:To coordinate and deliver an exciting range of Short Breaks activity clubs for children and young people aged5 - 17 with additional needs and disabilities.

Hours of work:21 hours per week over 3 days - including one evening per week

Term time hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday/Sunday 09:00 – 17:00

The Role

Identify, research and approach prospective contacts in order to cultivate relationships and generate new funds.

Prepare interim and final reports to funders in a timely fashion and manage ongoing relationships.

· To undertake client assessments and make appropriate arrangements for their support.

Purpose of the role

The Role

City Harvest – Corporate Partnerships Manager
Location: Acton, London W3. Three days in the office.

City Harvest, the charity rescuing food to feed people and protect the planet, is seeking a corporate fundraising manager  with excellent relationship-building skills to be responsible for the management and maximisation of corporate partnerships at the charity.

Since 2014, City Harvest has been working to solve food poverty and food waste across London. Every week, the charity rescues over 100 tonnes of surplus food from the food industry. Staff and volunteers sort and package this food, and our vans deliver it, free of charge, six days per week to over 375 community partners across 30 London boroughs.  The organisation provides over 1.1 million meals monthly, with 43% of their deliveries made up of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Development Manager, this role will lead and manage a portfolio of charity partnerships to an excellent standard. As well as managing and supporting the development of strategic partnerships, the post-holder will build relationships with multiple stakeholders at corporate partners to develop engagement and long-term commitment. This will include partnerships such as charity of the year, London chosen charity, commercial, cause-related marketing and affinity partnerships between £5-£100k. The post-holder will also develop high-quality materials for current and future partners and lead partner visits to City Harvest sites.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working in corporate fundraising in the charity sector or within a CSR team. You will be experienced in managing corporate partnerships and in building relationships with donors and senior stakeholders. Excellent writing and presentation skills will be combined with good time management abilities. You will also be highly organised and will have experience of using a CRM system for fundraising.
