Temple Church is located in the Temple, City of London. The Church serves the legal colleges (Inns of Court) of Inner and Middle Temple, and serves members of the Inns and their families, London’s residents, visiting jurists and travellers from all over the world through the provision of some of the most uplifting services, music and discussions in London. Inner and Middle Temple have established a new registered charity, Temple Church Trust (Reg no 1205712), to maintain the Church, support its choristers and professional musical team, and develop its charitable activities. In advance of the Trust becoming operational in the summer, the Temple Church Committee wishes to appoint the first Chief Executive Officer of the Trust.
The role:
The CEO will be expected to lead and coordinate an established team of full-time and part-time staff; manage the Church’s multifaceted stakeholder network; ensure close control and management of the Church’s resources; and represent the Church and its work to the two Inns and externally so that the Church can function effectively and plan confidently for the future. The CEO will also be responsible for the Church's sensitive commercial development through the Trust’s wholly-owned commercial subsidiary company.
What we need:
You will be an excellent leader with effective interpersonal skills. Your recent experience will be at the director level or equivalent in the third sector, public sector, military or commerce. You will have a proven track record of leading or significantly contributing to the leadership of an organisation similar in size and complexity to the Temple Church. Proven experience in managing and delivering projects and income generation is essential. You should demonstrate a commitment to learning and development and sympathy for the mission and values of the Church of England.
What we offer:
This is a full-time position with an annual salary of £75,000. Benefits include a generous non-contributory defined contribution pension scheme, private health care, and 25 days’ annual leave (plus public holidays).

We are praying for a talented Director of Finance, Property and IT to join our Leadership Team. You will be inheriting a skilled and diverse team across the finance, property and IT functions, with the possibility to grow this team, as needed, to fulfil your responsibilities.

We have a thriving music programme with over 100 children singing in three choirs weekly, and we are active in our service to the community. The successful candidate will work closely with the Vicar of St John the Divine to ensure the strategic priorities of the St John the Divine Resourcing Church network – currently St John the Divine Kennington, St Faith’s North Dulwich, and the Korean congregation at St James’ Malden – are delivered. You will develop and drive forward a fundraising function to secure sustainable funding for the Friends International (FI) General and Strategic Growth Funds from all appropriate income streams including Trusts, legacies, major donors, regular supporters, and churches. FI currently has 80 Staff working in 35 university towns and cities in the UK and Ireland. As part of our ‘Vision for Growth’, we are seeking to place new staff in towns or cities with little known international student activities and to strengthen teams in existing centres which have just one member of staff. Reporting to the National Director, you will be the fundraising element of a small team based at the FI Support Centre. You will model and reflect the Christian ethos, mission, vision and values of FI in all aspects of the role, and will be able to explain them to others, as well as accompanying other staff in prayer as they seek to raise the resources needed for ministry. You will also be at the centre of helping to coordinate and contribute to the team’s digital communications, online resources, training and presentations to augment the team’s objectives.
Alongside the processing of financial and administrative tasks, you will also lead on the gathering and sharing of information, knowledge and learning on Connexion-wide property projects, to provide a good practice resource for the Connexion.
About You
We are looking for someone who wants to make a positive contribution to the work of the Property Support team and be equally comfortable collaborating in a team environment or under your own initiative. You will preferably have experience supporting a senior team within a property function, being comfortable in engaging with a range of stakeholders.
As the role will underpin and contribute to supporting the team’s digital communications and resources, training and presentations, it is essential that you have relevant experience and confidence in these areas. Equally, experience and ability to plan, research and assimilate new information alongside the analysis and delivery of projects will be an essential quality.
