Family Support Team Leader (Befriending), 35 hours per week, £34,495 (inclusive London weighting), per annum- Westminster
This is an exciting opportunity for a Family Support Team Leader (Befriending) to join our Westminster team and to manage, develop and provide high quality, flexible services to parents, carers and their children (4-11 years and their siblings), and others in a parenting role within Family Lives policies and procedures. This is a three years project in partnership with One Westminster which is funded by the Big Lottery Fund. The post holder will also be responsible to manage and coordinate existing Befriending projects and activities.
The post holder will provide listening support to parents to help them explore their feelings, identify their issues in relation to their role as a parent and decide a plan of action. You will also be responsible for recruitment of volunteers for the project, including advertising and carrying out interviews, training as well as management and supervision of volunteers and staff. The role will also include managing and complying with financial systems and supporting Area Manager when required.
The successful candidate will need to have 2 years’ experience of managing and supervising staff and volunteers and managing budget. Excellent communication skills both written and oral, ability to build trust and maintain good relationships with parents, partner organisations and community groups as well as experience of safe guarding are essential. You will also be required to have the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver in tight timescales, work on own initiative and as part of a team, to motivate staff and stakeholders.
Family Lives is a national charity supporting lower income and vulnerable families. We provide support through our helpline, community services and online.
Family Lives was set up over 40 years ago by volunteers who wanted to ensure any family in crisis had somewhere to turn. Today, volunteers are at the very heart of the work we do to support families and we have over 300 working across the organisation.
Last year we supported over 36,000 helpline callers, around 6,500 adults and young people through our community services, and had 2.5 million visitors to our website.
