Family Support Worker

Job Description

Do you have a passion to work in the community enabling others to unlock their potential?

If yes, our Family Support Worker may be the role for you. As a Family Support Worker you will establish and provide appropriate support interventions for families in Castle Vale and within the wider Birmingham area (depending on funding acquired) experiencing challenging situations/circumstances to enable them to have increased aspirations and to achieve positive outcomes for both adults and children.

The successful Family Support Worker will have;

  • Significant experience of direct work with children and families in a family support capacity

  • Ability to understand and react to the needs of vulnerable families

  • Ability to identify problem areas, make recommendations and create support plans to enable positive changes

  • Ability to produce case reports in line with project protocols

  • Knowledge of interventions which may be used to support children, young people and families

  • Knowledge and understanding of Early Help assessment procedures and safeguarding processes

  • Relevant qualification in social care, health care, children and young people, community work or education, NVQ level 3 as a minimum
