City of London, London
Up to £28,000 per annum
Contract, Full-time
Job description
Senior Community Hub Co-ordinator (1 Year FTC)
London, SE8, Sheffield, South Yorkshire or Home Based

About Us

We are FareShare, the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste. We are a charitable distribution network that takes excess, in-date and good to eat food and redistributes it to other charities that turn it into meals.

We operate 21 regional centres around the UK – the majority of these are run by local charitable organisations (we call them delivery partners). This enables us to be a UK-wide organisation while keeping local concerns at the heart of our actions.

Currently, there is an increasing demand for our services and it’s more important than ever that we get quality donated and surplus food to those in need.

We’re now looking for a Senior Community Hub Co-ordinator to join our team for a one year fixed term contract and support a new partnership with Do IT, the largest volunteer brokerage website in the UK.

The Benefits

- Salary of up to £28,000 per annum
- Pension
- Travelcard loans (if required)
- Cycle to work scheme
- Employee assistance programme

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a talented individual with project management skills, learning design experience and plenty of great ideas to advance with our highly visible, national charity.

Through our exceptional work and partnering with some high profile, high street retailers, we’ve now achieved a national platform for our work and are eager to support more people with more services. This vital role will drive the evolution of our support network, delivering more volunteers to our partners and embarking on additional services that will reach even more people.

We’re excited about our future and hope you are too. If you can see yourself as part of Fareshare’s volunteering experience, we want to hear from you.

The Role

As the Senior Community Hub Co-ordinator, you will be tasked with embedding a range of processes and practices within our community partner organisations and across Fareshare to support increased volunteering activity.

Specifically, you will lead the adoption of the Do IT system within the charities and community groups we support, design new services to meet needs and resolve any problems or issues that are faced.

Your role will also involve:

- Embedding the system within Fareshare’s processes
- Scoping and assessing future requirements
- Supporting the design, delivery and evaluation of new services
- Supporting the Fareshare Volunteering Team to provide a consistent and positive volunteering experience

About You

To be considered as the Senior Community Hub Co-ordinator, you will need:

- Experience of managing projects (including the demonstrable ability to co-ordinate people, budgets and resources, to hit objectives and timelines)
- Experience of collaborating across multiple teams to reach a goal
- Experience of working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and design user experience
- Experience of designing and delivering face-to-face, e-learning and virtual and/or blended learning programs
- The ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas and solutions to teams and developers
- A good level of IT literacy, in particular of using Microsoft applications, CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and video conferencing software

Experience of working with a federated or partnership structure would be beneficial to your application. Experience of working in the third sector would also be an advantage.

Other organisations may call this role Volunteering Project Co-ordinator, Volunteering Project Manager, Volunteering Service Co-ordinator, Service Co-ordinator, Project Manager, or Charity Project Manager.

The closing date for this role is the 5th July 2020.
