Job Description

Fellows Officer

35 Hours

Circa £25,000 per annum

We are looking to recruit a Fellows Officer to join our friendly team. As Fellows Officer you will support the Fellows Manager with the administration of the Fellows group.

For more than 210 years the Royal Horticultural Society has been the force behind the nation’s gardening. Our charitable purpose is to inspire passion and excellence in the science, art and practice for horticulture. Our vision is to enrich everyone’s life through plants, and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place. As a charity, the RHS aims to inspire a wide range of audiences by demonstrating the wonders of gardening through all that we do including gardens and shows, in our publications and online, and through our work in the community.

The RHS Fellows is the Society’s Patrons group with individuals making an annual suggested contribution of £5,000. The support from the Fellows helps us to achieve our charitable objectives and provides a significant stream of unrestricted income for the Society. In return for their support, Fellows receive a number of benefits along with a year-long programme of events.

We are looking to recruit a Fellows Officer to work with the Fellows Manager and other colleagues in the dynamic Funding team. You will be responsible for all aspects of the administration of the Fellows group and will assist with the stewardship and recruitment of Fellows. You’ll need great customer service skills, be highly organised and a team player. You will play a key part in the delivery of the busy Fellows annual Events Programme, which includes events such as tours at Chelsea Flower Show, Annual Fellows Dinner and Talks and Walks at our four Gardens, as well as trips to other Gardens of horticultural interest across the UK. For the right candidate this role offers exciting opportunities, which could include managing a number of these events.

It’s never been more exciting time to join the Royal Horticultural Society. We are making a landmark £160 million investment in the future of horticulture over the next 10 years. This will allow us to bring the joy of gardening to millions more people and make some of the most significant and exciting changes in the history. Join us and be part of the history.
